Taking Mellis off (again) putting Digby on in front of the defence, according to Adam Brammer. Bizarre, very negative, but it's becoming a theme subbing Mellis.

Fair enough, bring Cywka on then, sounds like we handed the initiative back.

I don't think Mellis wants to play for Barnsley would like to get back down south.

Thought taking him off turned the game in their favour

Then we need a better option than leaving Dawson on and giving the opposition nowt to think about with three players all the same in the middle.

The guys having a go at mellis have no idea about football. opinions are opinions but honestly this guy is class. didn't have his best game today but he still played well. no idea why he was subbed. we lost our shape and diggers really showed his immaturity in the last 10 mins.
Having said all that i hope i'm wrong about the offside decision for their 2nd goal. a bitter pill to swallow otherwise. we deserved all 3 pts today.

My only critiscism of Mellis is his inability to play 90 mins and you don't have to have an in depth knowledge about football to know that the same as with butterfield. As for their equaliser church started his run from his own half so he wasn't offside.

Mellis wasn't that bad today, but I agree Flickers desperation to get Digby on the pitch cost us today.

Digby may as well have played in the back four he was so close to them. When mellis went off it left a big gap between the attack and midfield and allowed Charlton to have more ball.

We never looked like getting a winner once they scored

Exactly, I thought Mellis played well today in his more central role. Charlton were poor but I also thought we played with a tempo that didn't allow them to play. There were times when the ball was being played into Scotland and O'Grady when Ethu, Digby and Dawson were not within 30 yards of them.

I'm not having a go at any of the players as I thought they all put in a shift, I thought that it was a poor substitution. If it isn't broken don't try to fix it !

he was clearly onside anyway he ran past kennedy to get the ball, Steele should have come out earlier, he may have got to the ball first

    Totally agree, Paul

Mellis was bright & creative. Once he was subbed for Digby, the team had three defensive midfielders, no one creative and there was a bigger and bigger gap between our two strikers and the rest of the team.

Really? And how do you work that out ? Sure he came out and said he was glad to get out off London. Was born In Nottingham so don't see why he would want to get away from here. Really don't understand certain people and where they think up these things. I thought he played ok and set up the 2nd goal.

Mellis was great in the first half and gave them loads of problems but by the time he was taken off he had faded and was almost anonymous so while it wasn't the change I would have made I can understand why Flicker made it.
