and had Mansford delivered a goalscorer as promised we would have . Then Flitcroft decided to tinker, crazy decision to take off Mellis after he created the 2nd, hope he's not planning to squeeze 6 central midfield players into the side every week, pick your best 11 David, don't f.u,c/k about trying to keep everyone happy, its a results business. As I said whilst everyone was getting carried away 4 weeks ago, two tough opening games so today was important and should've been 3 points, now we need something from Blackburn or the pressure mounts.
Agreed, blessing in disguise though when Perkins went off. Awful, hasn't got the skill or pace to hold onto it like he does and should give the ball away a lot earlier. Probably why he's playing at his highest ever level.
Deceptively strong, quick feet, can run all day, gets stuck in, always wants the ball, can pick a pass. Not what I would call awful. First name on the team sheet for me.
Against the poorer side maybe but against owt decent he's soon found out. Don't get me wrong I like the lad but l know his limits, he was clobbered today, not hard enough. Fairly easy tactic against him if you want to null any threat from him.
Clobbered unfairly in my opinion. Don't know how they got away with it. He doesn't shirk a challenge, straight back up after he took the hit that eventually forced him off.
I thought Perkins was doing ok today against a physical side. It was a shame to see him go off but I was glad we had Kelv as back up who was immense again.
Kelvin was solid, problem was when Digby came on, deepest midfield we've had since we played Liverpool at home with 8 men.
Mellis might have made our second, but IMHO responsible for their first by pissing about trying to short pass ou t of our box.
