    "Barnsley / Bergen (TV 2 Sport): 23-year-old, who has struggled to gain confidence in the Dutch Vitesse, rented for the season.

    The agreement was signed on Tuesday afternoon.

    Barnsley would have a permanent move, but Vitesse should have demanded a transfer fee of around 16 million. It was too expensive for the championship team.

    He should be praised real time and debuts probably already in the away match against Joshua Kings Blackburn Saturday.

    Pedersen has all his life been a dream to play football in England. Now he fulfilled it.

    It is Pedersen's agent Jack Karadas who was responsible for the negotiations.

    Nightmare start
    Barnsley got a nightmare start to the season in the Championship.

    "The Tykes' lost 0-4 at home in league opening against Wigan on their home turf Oakwell Stadium, and were beaten 1-0 by Blackpool in the next match.

    In the third matchday did however Barnsley a slight upturn after they were 2-2 against Charlton.

    Since 2002 Barnsley played at the third highest level, which now has the name Football League One. But after the success of season 2005/2006 promoted Barnsley up to the Championship after beating Swansea 4-3 on penalties in the play-off matches.

    Jan Åge Fjørtoft played for Barnsley in the season 1998/99 and scored nine goals in 34 appearances for the club. Team best position in the Premier League is 19 space from season 1997/1998.

    Barnsley was, moreover, founded in 1887, and was elected to the Football League in 1898. The town of Barnsley is located in the English region of Yorkshire and the Humber, about midway between the major cities of Leeds and Sheffield."

    They dont have a clue who we are if they think we cant pay 16 million for a player, lazy journalism

    I would imagine that is Norwegian Krone, 16 million being about £1.7million

    Kroner, yes. About 1,5 million pounds.

    As a Norwegian I have seen Marcus Pedersen quite a few times, and I can say that he is a really good player. He played for our national team (came on as a sub) against Sweden last week as well.

    He is strong and a good finisher. I think he'll get us goals when he gets used to the Championship!
