Yes, I'll catch a game at Oakwell this season for sure! I've not decided whether it will be before, or after x-mas, but the way it stands right now after x-mas seems the most likely. I'm really looking forward to experience the "new era" and the optimism surrounding the club. Last time I visited, in December 2012, there wasn't to much optimism around the ground.. It's not to bad traveling from Bergen. There are a lot of direct flights to London, so if I do some planning in advance I'll manage to get a flight for a decent price. It's well worth the money. There's nothing like a few pints and a match at Oakwell!
Nice one, I know Ryanair do very cheap flights from Liverpool to Oslo as I've been planning to go there at some point but obviously that's miles away from Bergen. You'll have to let us all know so we can meet up for a few beers.
Yes, it's much easier to travel from Bergen to London, and then by train to Barnsley. I wish there had been a direct flight to Liverpool or Manchester from Bergen. Then it would have been very even easier. I'll let you all know so we can have a pint or four!
Me and the other half spent a couple of wonderful days in Bergen a few years back (did the scenic train ride from Oslo - with detour to Flam - too), really beautiful place, you're a lucky chap living there. Look forward to seeing you at Oakwell soon mate.
That's a really nice train ride. I have taken it several times my self visiting my family back home in Sandefjord, a bit south of Oslo. And you're right - Bergen is a beautiful place. Even though it rains a lot (we have something like 265 rain days per year... ), I've lived here for 9 years now, and still counting! I hope you were lucky and had nice weather when you visited?
Unfortunately we had the traditional Bergen weather, mostly rain, I remember in particular we got a right soaking strolling down from the top of Mount Floyen (what a view!), but thanks to the Rough Guide we'd packed for it, and knew what to expect. On the plus side, it was good clean Scandinavian rain, and it certainly didn't spoil our time there. By the way doesn't SAS now fly direct to Manchester from Bergen?
I'm glad to hear that it didn't affect your experience of Bergen. At least you didn't have fog. That would have made your trip to Fløyen a bit less enjoyable! hehe.. If you visit Bergen again some time, you should travel to Mount Ulriken as well. It's a couple of hundreds meters higher than Fløyen, so the view is amazing, and you get to see even more of the surounding areas. But as you say, the view from Fløyen is amazing, and it gives the best view of the city it self! Yes, it looks like SAS fly direct to Manchester. I didn't know actually, but it looks like the return flight is on a Monday, so it's not the best day to travel with regards to work.
Just in case anyone still doubts Gum121 And the authenticity of his contacts. http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?192999-Nyatanga
I know exactly what you mean, mate! <img src ="http://www.technollama.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/what-have-romans-ever-done-for-us.jpg">
