Look in a very strong position to claim another win, extend their lead at the top of the championship and move closer to the title in their 150th year.

Nottinghamshire 5 runs behind, 1 wicket remaining having followed on.

    Great effort this season.

Yorkshire survived a torrid time to scrape a win off 5 balls in the second innings. Was a close run thing but they just managed it.

Assuming all the teams play each other twice that's 16 matches, so there's 4 left for Yorkshire. Some other teams have a couple of games in hand so it's not over yet. Will have a better idea after the current round of matches. Think we're just about safe though.

I'm off to the first day of the Scarborough Cricket Festival against Durham on Wednesday. Can't wait. We've been quality this year, despite the England selectors doing their damndest to scupper us!

With Middlesex likely to lose (79 required 2 wickets in hand) Durham are side most likely so, yup I think you're bang on. Durham in a strong position versus Surrey.

Not looking good at the moment. Still 200 behind after following on. Need to bat on and on for a draw.

approaching lunch on final day ....... Yorks effectively 50 - 5 lost key wickets and will do well to hold on now after Bairstow out just before lunch.

    Re: Oh dear

need to bat until at least tea or we'll lose, no rain forecast, we need a 200ish lead at 6 p/o to have a chance of a draw, they'll throw the kitchen sink at it
