As they say Wakey, One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

This is a fact of life. I
Wakey I did not mean to get in your face but your post asking about recognition for the IRA did not IMO seem appropriate on a football forum.
I realise that the thread was taking a political route but that was because Celtic and Rangers were involved and as such one of those club more than the other seems to have a political agenda, for whatever reason.

BTW I do agree with what you say in other parts of your post especially about the totally pointless war in Iraq. Of course I do believe we have got Tony Blair and all his licking of George Bush's arse to blame for that.
Anyway that's another argument. Let's keep this football and keep politics out of it.

I agree, politics and religion should be kept out of football, and there is nothing attractive about certain behaviours of the fans of both those clubs, I personally would always honour a minutes silence.
I agree about Tony Blair, he has a lot to answer for - The ultimate truth is that when the rich wage war its the poor who die.

    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

You’re a Dundee United fan and you talk more about Rangers/Celtic

I don’t need to explain my reasons to anyone. All I’m saying is that things don’t need to have happened last year for them to be still relevant.

Its obvious where not going to agree on this so why bother with the debate.

You follow Dundee united and Barnsley – I follow Rangers and Barnsley – What’s the problem.

    How do you mean?

Can he play, Yes anytime he played v United he was always a bit of a handful.

Can he play, Is he permitted? well I suppose so as he has signed with no restrictions.

Re: He was a popular lad up there

1 I talked about Celtic because McCourt signed from them.
2 You don't have to explain anything. Correct. That is because you know I am right and you have no answer.
3 Correct we will never agree but I'll continue as long as it takes to put you right on certain things.
4 I follow DUFC / BFC and you follow TRFC / BFC and there is no problem there. The problem arises when you consistently bring in the sectarian element into the equation of which there is no need. Support your teams but leave religion out as it has no place in football.

I mean has he been here long enough to get a place on the bench, or do you think he'l be a couple of weeks off?

Re: He was a popular lad up there

Well that my friend is a question for the manager. For me if he has full fitness the I would see no reason why he shouldn't get a place on the bench. I'm sure he has been signed to be a regular as opposed as a bit part player.
    We'll see soon enough.

You sound like a kid wanting to argue.

You won’t agree with me and I won’t agree with you so go and annoy someone else.

You will never understand unless you have been brought up around this.

You may not agree but that’s not going to stop me posting my thoughts. I have never met anyone talk about Rangers so much who supports Dundee United – Secret Teddybear ?

If you’re not interested stop reacting.

If you’re 57 year old surely you can choose to ignore my comments and not bite like a child

Do you just sit on your computer all day wanting to argue with people?

Its obvious where not going to agree with each other so learn to ignore and get on with your own life.

To quote someone or another "I'm not prejudiced I hate everyone equally". Aren't we meant to be talking about the mighty reds...

Is this what we're going to have to put up with now we've signed another ex-Celtic player and we have an openly pro-Rangers poster?

This is going to be mind numbingly boring.

Just checked and apparently they've always been called that.

Calling them Glasgow Rangers must be a bit like calling Nottingham Forest Notts Forest.

I don't know the ins and outs of the situation up there as well as Scots, I'm sure. Why I'm surprised it's not a problem is that to Irish nationalists "Northern Ireland" is a false, imposed entity. Therefore I'm surprised that any nationalists would play for, thus represent, thus validate the state.

Once again lovely comments about Liverpool - love this board. Certainly not a ***** hole - bad areas like everywhere else . I live in a beautiful area where some of the property goes for three quarters of a million. Liverpool has the fastest growing economy of any city outside of London.

People are spot on - if people judge a towns population on its football fans then it's a bad job. It was disgusting what happened that night but so was the Liverpool fans - kids as well - getting bricked on the railway bridge in Barnsley station

What happened in Liverpool that night was disgrace full, if as you say people were getting bricked a Barnsley station was also a disgrace.
The vast majority of Barnsley and Liverpool people are decent hardworking fun loving folk and should not be judged on these idiots and I aso agree with you that Liverpool is not by a long long way a shithole
