I remember hearing that Darth Vader was coming to teach us the green cross code only to find a fat, bald guy with a beer gut waiting in assembly (Prowse)
Just retired after 36 years full time and 8 years part time teaching. That's, erm....44 years. Every time I saw the Back to School signs in the shops, heart hit boots. Funny thing was, though, that by about lunchtime on the first day back it felt ok. I was the only BFC fan for miles around, but I made 'em have it.
Teaching in Korea, the long break is in winter not summer. I just had four weeks here, but two I was in school doing extra classes. So, total of 9 working days off and a national holiday. I have Jan-Feb off, but with four weeks of camps, and two weeks of the "genius curriculum", leaving me two weeks again. At least it's during the footy season and I can get home for a couple of games! Personally, I feel sorry for the kids. They get no real breaks because they have special academies (for English, maths, Korean, music or science) for up to four hours a day after they finish regular school. Some kids are out 8am-10pm! Much better behaved than their English counterparts, mind.
That's the kind of attitute to getting on that Britain needs to compete with to keep up in the world. Instead, we let our bad kids **** about all day, with a 'god forbid if you touch my little johnny' attitute to discipline, holding the bright kids back, then we chuck em out at 16 with a couple of GCSEs and let em get knocked up to get a flat.
Can't have everything they have some of the most violent protests I have ever seen it must be frightening to be a policeman in such circumstances, so they make up for their innocence in adulthood.the grass is not always greener
