This fallacy that he has suddenly become a good defender can we put it to rest, that third goal yesterday was a classic illustration, bad positioning, easily mugged off, I cannot understand what has generated this theory that he's actually improved at all. Terrible right back and far, far too brittle for a centre back. Hill stuck with him regardless and Flitcroft might end up going the same way at this rate. He can look at all the possession stats he wants, the only one that matters is we're averaging 3 goals conceded a game, just as bad as last year. Common theme - Wiseman. Huddersfield at home next week with Vaughan, Patterson, Stead & Hammill, and the pressure is already on. Time to man up Flicker and pick your best 11.
With regards to Wiseman, I think it's the second goal that's more worrying. For the third, Wiseman shows good pace (again) and if the keeper stays on his line he's going nowhere.
Has he mentioned possession? Four games and four mistakes for me. Silly to play JOB at right back and a bizarre substitution Perkins for Mellis.
Letting Jordan Rhodes get goal side and running at goal classic Wiseman. The 2nd looks like O Brien should've been closer, but its Rhodes again, not picked up. If Robins has watched the highlights, he'll have Vaughan playing on the shoulder of Wiseman all game.
Probably. Another defeat next Sat and the pressure will start to mount. He needs to get back to what worked last season, if he can.
Another defeat next Saturday and we will be in a similar position to what Davey had us in before getting the boot, 1 pt in 5 games 3 goals for and eleven against. We`ve conceded 12 in four up to just scoring 4. Something gotta change.
I agree and it wasn`t a go at Flicker or anyone else, I was just showing the similarity to the start that season, We`ve even won our first round League Cup game, Davey had got us through 2 rounds so could be a good omen for Tuesday if the similarity continues. Flicker has got the full season for me, he earned that.
We knew from last season that Wiseman, Kennedy and Dagnall were nowt near good enough at this level. All have featured heavily this season, there is no improvement and never will be. Don't blame the players, they give their all every week. Our saviour Mr Flitcroft has somehow got it in his head that these players were the reason we stayed up instead of that they nearly took us down. He's also turning into Keith Hill with his safety first, defensive selections. It looks like the Dagnall issue has been sorted if Pederson stays fit, but we still need a right back and Goldbourne in his natural position (and not sold to Wolves).
