since his departure: 1) Bruce Dyer 2) Err, that's it, unless I've forgotten someone, which I probably have. Which just goes to prove, nowt really.
I think so. I can't think of anyone else. Rammell scored 50 goals for us in all competitions. Redfearn scored more than that, but a lot of those goals were while Rammell was still with us, he didn't score 50 after Rammell left. Sheron:40 Shipperley: 32 Nardiello: 32
He scored more in total, but a lot of those were while Rammell was with us, he didn't score more after Rammell left.
I don't know if that says more about the increasingly transient nature of players careers or the quality of player we've had in recent times. Probably a bit of both considering some of the quality we have had.
Craig Hignett scored 37 goals for us according to soccerbase. 21 in all competitions in the 99/00 season
In curries second spell under melvin it used to be "Saville/rammell/P*#rson tha fookin' ***** get currie on"
Yes Brian Joicey another ex Wednesdayite. Well done that man. Why do we never attract true goals corners it puzzles me.
The last player to score 20 league goals in a season for us was Ronnie Glavin. He managed it in three seasons (1979/80, 1980/81 & 1982/83), I think. The last striker to score 20 league goals in a season was Brian Joicey (1976/77).
Had to smile when I read the interview in the Chron the other day where the guy who is coaching at Leeds' academy descibed Redferarn as 'Barnsley's greatest ever player'. More worryingly he claimed to have grown up watching McCarthy, Glavin etc..
