Having read lindleys answers, I don't think they give two hoots about the business. The supporters are crying out for somewhere to congregate for an hour or two before the game, have a couple of pints and maybe a bite to eat. I don't think lindleys are capable or want to deliver it and the club are seriously missing out on a decent revenue stream if they stay with things as they are.
If people cannot go 90 minutes without food or a drink then god help em. Either take your own or have something just before setting off or head to Oakwell Sandwich.
Sorry but some of those answers are clearly untrue Make a Locally Sourced Pork Pie available Reply: Financially not viable. Not true. Local cost much lower than £1. Request: Open Day Launch of the new products they were going to Launch including Franks Hotdogs/ Frank’s Original New York Streetdog/ Flaming Good Burger / Pie Factory. A: All are now on menu Where are they on sale? Request: Drinks – Ensure cold drinks are cold and hot drinks are hot. Ensure black tea and coffee is available. A: All equipment has been calibrated and working to correct temperatures. It goes without saying that cold drinks should be served cold however the demand can sometimes mean bottles are not in the fridge for as long as required, only alternative could be larger fridges but this is costly and size is an issue. Not true. The reason cold drinks are not cold is not because the fridges are too small, it is because they sit empty at 2pm before most fans turn up. If they were filled to capacity and the cold drinks were not sat on the worktop next to the fridge then maybe they would be colder. I've got a small fridge at home but it keeps my milk cold because I choose to put the bloody thing in it rather than putting it near it. Request: Availability of food – ensure food is ready before the match and at half time. We had lots of complaints that from people who said they went to the kiosks to say food wasn’t ready etc. A:Food is put in at the same time each week. Lindley have said that Evening games are sometimes hard as they are an hour short on preparation time compared to Saturdays Not true. Food may be put in at the same time each week but every week things are not ready. Maybe their 'same time' is too late? Have the thick feckers thought about that? Also not enough is put in. The bar in the east lower regularly has as little as TWO pies in it at 2:30pm. What happens if they have a rush of oooo I don't know 3 people? Somebody gets told it 'isn't ready'. Piss poor excuse that.
Well said. **** trying to improve the experience and trying to increase the clubs revenue. If people can't go 90 minutes then **** them. I also propose removing toilet facilities to cut costs. If people can't go a couple of hours without pissing themselves then god help em
Well said. Obviously Lindley's only care about Lindley's profits rather than the custome experience so why not just **** em off n get someone else in who gives a damn.
I'm not one for defending Lindley's as I find the offer at Oakwell terrible and my rare trips there, but on the point of sourcing local produce it isn't always as simple as some think. I could be completely wrong, but big companies (in the food and drink industry) tend to have certain procedures in place to cover them in terms of quality, refunds, health and hygiene, EHO practices, delivery, storage, etc. Their response that they can't find anything for less than £1 is ridiculous, but they might be having difficulty finding a partner to work with.
If Lindleys can't provide something basic like a pork pie then we need to find ways of getting round their no doubt robust contract with the club , maybe a supporters trust raffle where the winning prize is a pork pie £1 a ticket everyone a winner , 50p to local butcher 50p to the trust to spend how they deem worthy, bet within 2 matches they would have found that local butcher!!
Just amused by the saddos who cannot manage without eating overpriced shjte for 90 mins When will they realise the catering co. do not give a ****
LAST SEASON think it was Burnley at home winter game. I went t'snap oil int Ponty before HT. Theyd run out of bovril!!!!! It's powder in a cup for about £2.50 FFS. I'd love to know the mark up on that and some hot watter!!!! If I was knocking them out I'd have them stockpiled to fook!!!!
I've said it before and I will say it again... The standard of the bints behind the counter is sadly lacking. The only thing that would get me to buy any snap from them would be Hollister Style recruitment drive.
Beer Keller type busty wenches would make me spend something! Not sure it would profit the club though!
