Honest. We've got too big a squad, Flicker's flapped a bit and made some bad calls, and everyone had forgotten the reality that we are still Barnsley. But for 60 minutes against Charlton we looked a good team(ie when we pass the ball on the deck). We were winning at Blackburn before we went down to 10 men. Kept a clean sheet for all but the last kick away to Blackpool, and we haven't been able to put out our proper defence yet. Oh and I love Bobby Hassell. He should certainly have been involved so far. But everyone's gone mental again and mistaken him for Franco Baresi. Glad I'm on holiday in sunny Whitby though, cos if I'd been at work and read this board today i'd have been slitting my wrists. I do think I am also wrong on all the above as I am increasingly alone in my opinions.
I do agree with your point (made elsewhere) about coherence of playing style (or lack of). And we need to shift some players out the door this week.
We got away with grafting other sides out of it from January onwards. That's not happened so far this season. We need some creativity and attacking threat, quickly.
Too reliant on Mellis. Results are directly related to how he plays. The whole formation is built around that being the key position
Agreed. However, the wing backs need to take some responsibility from him. The difference in the Charlton game was they got near their box. We scored twice, both from crosses. Coincidence, that.
