If you're talking about Golbourne being sold, I think it's excellent business - he's surplus to requirements. We won more matches without him than with him last season and all of our good results against top clubs towards the back end were without him. He falls between two stools for me. Not a brilliant defender due to his lack of height and there are better out-and-out wingers already at the club i.e. RNL, JOB, Cywka & Jennings.
he is our best LB at the club so how on earth is he surplus to requirements?? it really is a shambles down there at the moment... i dont no where to start from him not knowing his best formation to bringing in a 41yr old goalkeeper!! i cannot belive we are allowing goldy to go!! im am so fed up and its only been 5 games!!
Traditionally, the street in a town where the butchers were found. It's a clever metaphor to illustrate how we're being cut up and sold, eh?
It's all a matter of opinion mate. He's OK bombing forward but as a defensive left back I'd say your namesake and Nyatanga would both do better jobs. Nowt against him but I'd rather have a proper defensive left-back and a genuine winger than someone who is expected to do both jobs. In a 4-4-2 I'd prefer Nyatanga plus one of the many wingers out wide. In a 3-5-2 I'd prefer RNL out wide.
Bit ott but....... 1) Selling a first team regular to a lower league side. 2) Sticking with Lindleys instead of trying to get out of the contract with them. 3) Scoreboard. 4) Club shop. 5) A manager who when Scott was injured said we don't have two million to go out and replace him yet will get nothing near that for him. 6) A manager who mentions how little first team football Alnwich has had even though Pollitt has played about the same amount of games in recent years. 7) A squad that needs trimming of a good half a dozen players. 8) Guys played out of position. Lots more too but you get the picture. Different season, same old. The only thing I can think of that's been a good change for us since the end of last season is the long term Digby contract. Apart from that nothing else is different.
What for flogging Goldbourne? It's amazing how opinions can differ. When Flicker and most of our fans were raving about him last season I really didn't get it. He was up and down the pitch alright- he looked like he was putting a shift in, but there was hardly ever an end product. I have never known a winger with such a poor ability to put in a cross. Add to that he always seemed to take on an extra man than necessary, often losing the ball needlessly. Then, his defending, whilst reasonable, is so one footed it's ridiculous. You only have to look at Tuesday night (think it was the 2nd goal). He could have cleared it but was intent on getting on his other foot and it cost us a goal. Can't say I wanted him out of the club, but a shambles this does not make!

Well if he's a left back we are well shut, since he's spent less time in the left back position than Jason Scotland!
Hicksy, is it wrong of me hearing your voice procrastinating when reading your comments on this ere board?
