    We have to do whatever the Americans tell us to do, and they've set a timetable we have to follow, it's laughable really saying we have an independent foreign policy.

    Our Government is an absolute disgrace. Do we still have the British Empire? I think not. This is a very dangerous situation and it is not worth getting involved in a civil war where the outcomes are very unclear.

    Our armed forces are so small and poorly equipped I can't think they'll be much use anyway, look at how the Americans had to bail us out in Basra.

    Let the French be the poodle this time.

    Cameron is off the hook really, he can just say "sorry Mr Obama I was all for taking part but the House of Commons voted against".

    The Navy currently has a taskforce ( small compared to falklands proportions etc) of 5 ships and one nuclear sub in the area of the eastern med.

    im sure the RAF has a few planes tucked away in Cyprus "on routine exercise" too

    the mate the camp is about 150 miles off the coast of Syria, son his wife and 3 grandkids there
