While I think Dawson played well I would still like to see a little more inventiveness in midfield. McCourt in for him next game?

Not fit enough. Needs time off the bench first.

McCourt in for Perkins if you want inventiveness. If you want someone who runs around a lot, passes backwards, points at everyone else and generally slows our game down and breaks up our attack then Perkins is the man for you. Dawson is a much more creative player than Perkins is

Think that arm band suggests he'll be first name on the team sheet every week regardless

Fit enough for a start and replaced by
Mellis after 60 mins surely. And at least Perkins knows which direction goal is! Dawson has to do a pirouette as soon as he's faced with a defender. Him and Goldbourne must have the same ballet teacher

Surely you're taking the piss by mentioning Dawson having to do a pirouette. Perkins does a full 360 every single time he gets the ball.

Him being captain is a lot different and you know it.

Mate went with my ticket today. Said perkins nearly feked it up by going back to goal all the second half

Perkins is effective at winning the ball, but that's where it ends.

His passing and creativity is poor. Would prefer to see Mellis in that position, with Dawson and Etuhu as the holding players.

He was trying to keep possession. We were under the cosh and he was trying to slow the game down.

I would say that if he went any slower he'd be going backwards but 90% of the time he IS going backwards

Perkins is a good player but he didn't have his best game today. Infuriating to watch at times. Should also shoot more.

Perkins was shocking today, broke up nearly every attack we made by fumbling around just outside the area until one of their defenders could make a tackle.

I find the criticism of Dawson & Perkins ridiculous, central midfield is probably our strongest area.

Everybody we play praises Perkins and we nearly always lose when he doesn't play yet he gets slated by our own fans.

The main criticism of Dawson seems to be that he's not Perkins or Etuhu. He's in there to do a job and he does it well. If you think Flicker picks him for creativity then you're crackers.

Perkins was my man of the match today. One of few of our players who finds space and creates an option for others - he's often the one allowing a pressured Barnsley player to play themselves out of trouble.

Etuhu gets praise but today seemed quite disinterested, especially second half. Our side struggles to create chances because the midfield in general sits so deep and doesn't break forward effectively when our team has the ball.

    Fickle.

It takes me at least 3 months to go from hating a player to reluctantly admitting he's good.
