Why don't they step up to the plate then or do they expect the West to sort their mess out everytime (and then criticise -and worse - for doing so)

 

Maybe they just don't think its the right thing to do. Race doesn't come in to it. 'They' are different countries so it isn't really 'their' mess

 

I think this is the first time I'd ever seen anything start with a disclaimer to not being or wanting to be racist that couldn't possibly be construed that way!

 

Probably because folk are frightened to express an opinion as society has decided many things that are not remotely prejudicial are examples of 'racism'.

For example if you have an opinion on immigration policy, it can be racist. Same as in this case, an opinion on foreign policy can be construed racist.

Neither are but people are verbally crucified for saying that they think there's too large a migrant population in the uk and so on.

In fairness most would be misguided and/or undereducated. As well as massively judgemental.

It's in most decent dictionaries as the past tense of 'wear'.

The middle east as always been a troubled area. they have bas been constant fighting there since before Jesus was born, impossible to police this one war stops then another one starts. Feel sorry for the Kids having to live like this but how can anyone stop this without committing themselves to long term even endless deployment of a military presence

 

When I started work in 1964, I, like a lot of others, worked with people who had fought in the war and served in the middle east and to a man they all said that the area would never be stable and it would be more than likely that the next world war would start in that area. The biggest problem is the religous divides, on one hand you have the different muslim factions fighting each other and on the other they hate the Jews and Christians and in return the Jews and the Christians want to get rid of the Muslims, and this has been going on for thousands of years and they don't seem to have the gumption to move on. I don't have a clue how to resolve it, on the one hand I say let em get on with it and wipe each other out, but can we stand by and let the never ending atrocities carry on. The one thing you can be sure of is that if we go in and sort it out our lads will be there for years and some will lose their lives. Glad I don't have to make the decision.
