Very suprised they paid that much tbh. Since he left us he hasn't done anything. Hardly played been on loan a few times and not exactly been outstanding. Doubt we will have a sell on clause

Heyup, you asked me that last week. And last week, they weren't in for him.
Crazy 24 hours. Happy for him. Great club to reignite his career at. Hope it works out.

At the time he was right to go, but in hindsight he'd have been better (for his short term career) to have waited and played more games for Barnsley. He might then be looking at a chance of a secure Premierspot for a team rather than dropping back down to the Championship. But fair do's to him.

Norwich sussed him out, no pace so won't hack it at the top. just wait for Boro to find out and he'll drop down the divisions.

Back where he belongs at a struggling 2nd tier club... so much for a glittering career at the top level ha ha ha

He played well for us. After that he was offered a 4 year contract from a Premier League Club, didn't play 1 minute in the Premier League, then offered a 3 year deal at Boro.

I hope Flicker uses this as motivation for our players. Have a decent season for us, go and get as much money as possible as quickly as possible, and set yourself up for life.

Very funny isn't it? Seeing a player that played well and did alot for us struggle to get his career back on track after a bad injury!

Whats he got under his belt?

A decent 12 months with us in the championship, doesnt play at all for Norwich and has a couple of injury's, he goes to boro and doesnt make it stick. Net result league one theres no aye oreight about it.

You are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine. But as with Bobby, Daggers and Luke, I feel we are never going to agree so let's move on.
Having read one or two posts and tweets over the last 24 hours though from BFC 'fans' I have to say I am relieved he hasn't returned here. Would have been a disaster for him. And he still made the right choice in leaving in 2012. Not his fault the manager didn't give him a chance. But thankfully he had half of the Championship after him and hopefully Mowbray looks after and trusts him as much as Keith did.

He should have stayed. He knew Howard, Hammill, bogdanovic all made the wrong decision by leaving because he said something similar on twitter, yet he still chose to go himself. Last chance for him on the road to league 1 and below beckons.

Footballers are thick and work in an industry where it is incredibly easy to get rich, you've got to remember that.

This interview suggests he's fcking well happy cos' Norwich are willing to pay him more money for kicking a ball about.

"get the right move where im going to play football"

    Butterfield for England

    Loaded.

This move might be good for him as Mowbray plays the right brand of football for him.
Leaving Barnsley was the wrong move at the time as he was recovering from a really bad injury, he should have stayed, PROVED he was still the player and talent he was after such a bad injury, and im fairly positive things would have been different for him. And i'm fairly sure things would have been different had he not got injured and he went in the January transfer window.

Opinions will always differ but if he doesnt make it work i honestly dont see what he'll have done to warrant championship football. Good luck to him though.
