    Travelled back today, picked up from airport at 4.40pm home 5.50pm, hardly a disaster.

    Saturday morning it will be fine. Yes, you'll be stop start through Mottram traffic lights but it's not worth going via M62

    Honestly I am not over-stating my experience of using that damned road. I’m sure many will have used it and not had too many issues but I have used the road several times and almost every time the hold ups going over (to the traffic lights) are horrendous and coming back there are always the extra queues at the roundabout at the bottom of the M67. The alternative is to use the Holmfirth road, which is generally pretty quiet, and in my experience it is a significantly better option.

    No access to the Woodhead Pass from Windle Edge (Winscar Reservoir, Dunford Bridge end) at the minute.
