I've plans to come down for the Watford game on the 21st. I usually stay at the Travelodge at the end of Doncaster road but was wondering if anyone could recommend a B&B nearer the centre of town. I expect to pay £30-£35 so anything in that region would be perfect. Thanks in advance.
Think it is a premier inn but same sort of price range. Glass house pub/restaurant connected to it is OK as well.
Cheaper options possibly Keel inn motel short walk from town 01226289813 or Hoyle Mill pub again short walk to town and close to ground 01226771417.
Slightly more but the Ramada Encore is showing for £42 that night via Trivago on Laterooms. http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/ram...ckout_year_month=2013-9&selected_currency=GBP
Thanks very much guys got all booked up in the premier inn. I'm only staying Friday night and got it for £32. The only down side is I have to share with some lovely person called Lenny Henry. LOL Have to leave for home just after the game as we've a home game v Motherwell on the Sunday. Should be home for midnight. Now I have to arrange for a resounding Tykes victory. Any idea how I go about that?
Thanks chop I'll check out these two places for future trips when I'm down. The Hoyle Mill looks a cozy wee place.
Oh Yes! I was down and witnessed the victory over Hull last home game last year. I don't do defeats anymore.
I've actually visited there before. Thought it was just a pub and not a hotel. I'll keep it in mind mate, Thanks.
It was certainly my most important. I was with BigLil that day and I have never seen anyone so petrified for the whole 90 minutes. Even with 5 minutes to go I said to him "well that's it we've done it" and he replied "No Ian this is Barnsley you are watching, anything can happen" TBH I think I might have seen tears in his eyes at full time. At the end he just sat with his head in his hands reliving that game. He was a nervous wreck. What a passionate football fan he is.
