He thinks he has made and mistake He shouldn't have put that silly blob on his 'fro. I think he's right.
He said it wasn't about money, said he felt that by going backwards with wolves it would take him forwards, reckons they will be in the Premier League the season after next. That might be case but doubt he will be playing for them then.
He was more of a one step forward, two steps back kinda player rather than the other way around, owd two touch.
they may well be in the PL in two seasons time, but he won't be playing for them when they are. still, Wolves in L1 is still bigger than Barnsley in the Champ. can't argue with that. good luck to him
They may well still be in League 1 in two years time. Wednesday, Leeds and Sheff Utd have all been relegated to that league in recent times, all thought they'd be straight back up and all found it a hell of a lot more difficult than they imagined. Signing for Wolves was a step backwards in football terms. Wolves may well be a bigger club, but there's no guarantee Golbourne will be playing anything other than League 1 football for the duration of his contract. If he was good enough to go and play in the Premier League and those were his aspirations, he would have signed for a top Championship side, not a team in league one. He's gone for the money.
So i've read it now. He mentions alot of things like not agreeing with Flicker about his performances as it's a team game, told the manager it would take ten games to get his form back, Wolves bigger crowds etc. Says we were the best time of his career so far and thanks Flicker and Keef. The only thing is dropping a league because in two years time he expects Wolves to be in the premiership. Now lets just say he continues to improve, knocks in some goals and in two years time looks like he will be good enough in the premiership. Surely if you've enough faith in your own ability to be in the premiership in two years time, you'd get back your form and wait until January as you may be in the premiership for a different team much sooner.....Or wait until next summer and get a big fat signing on fee as a free agent and maybe be in the premiership a year sooner than you think....
If he rediscovered his mediocre, in the team by default rather than ability, form of last season then he would have ended up at a league one club anyway.
Best time of his career, but chose to leave at first opportunity. He went for the money, nothing else.
I'll do neither, dunt really care about their players to be honest unless he pisses me off during the game. Can imagine Ponty booing him though.
If Golbourne is playing for Wolves (or any team) in the Premier League the season after next, I'll personally remove my own lower ribs and suck myself off. I'm sick of hearing this ****** from players who move for money. He's taken a step backwards in football terms and if Wolves do go up he'll be out of the picture next season when they spend big (a la Ramage at Palace). It would be refreshing to hear him say that he left for money because it will allow him to underpin his future ambitiions in fashion design. Just be honest Scott for fcuks sake. If Barnsley was his happiest time in football then why leave?
I'm pretty 'meh' about it as well to be honest. But our exciting revival last season, was very much underpinned by the discovery of Goldie and Stones as wingbacks. Lost both now, so more rebuilding to do
