....are a sane human being and see it for what it is - a ridiculously ill informed act of brutality on an innocent habitant of our glorious English countryside. A scapegoat for an aggressive and inherently problematic industry, that has mis-managed itself for decades. We know this to be fact. The badger was here first and it has contracted bTB from domestic cattle. That said....

I'm proud to say that I am actively involved in disrupting this dreadful and unnecessary cull. I've been making small art works to be sold in aid of the sabotage of the organised shootings of badgers. I've raised loads. It goes towards the subsistence of protest camps and the purchase of anything from vehicle fuel to night vision equipment.

I'm making a print edition of the artworks I've made. If you would like to support the anti-cull campaign and get something nice in return, buy one of the edition. It comprises 5 different 10 x 8 inch prints, signed and numbered by myself. They are high quality and the price of £20 includes postage and packaging. The profit on each set is around 50%, so 10 of your £20 will go directly to the anti-cull campaign.

I optimistically expect the cull to end before the scheduled 6 weeks. It has been a disaster. And although an estimated 120 badgers have died so far, the protest and disruption of the shootings can be seen as a success. If the cull ends, the funds generated by my project will be given to a badger vaccination programme already in place in Somerset.

Message me here if you are interested, if admin would like to sticky this post - that would be great.

Please respect this thread as being purely my point of view. It would be great to discuss the subject, I support an active but peaceful campaign and I would ask that this is respected.

    Thanks! :)

Bit of a leap from a wild animal cull for clearly stated reasons which have a logical basis- even if there is a good chance that the logic is flawed as many believe - to gassing old peoples homes.

Take your point on the way they treat disabled though

The moral compass of the BBS

5 million Syrian people dispersed and on the verge of starvation could result in the largest humanitarian disaster in modern times, not one single post but hey badgers are being culled, forgive me for not giving a flying f,uckng *****.

Just being a little mischievous. The treatment of te disabled is shocking. A friend who works in benefits told me she spent part of her morning suspending the housing benefit of someone with terminal breast cancer who missed an appointment with her advisor as she had been rushed into hospital.

If there really is a rule that states that missing an appointment due to a medical emergency causes a suspension of housing benefit someone somewhere wants stringing up for drafting and approving it.

I still dont understand why Remploy had to shut its factories either

Why haven't you started a thread on it then instead of trying to hijack this one?

If you miss the appointment you get an automatic 4 week exclusion from DWP benefits this has a knock on to housing benefit. You can of course appeal depends if you're up to it I guess. remploy closure were purely a political decision.

I am not an expert on this topic by any means but what you are saying makes no sense

Are you really saying that someone who is on disability benefit who misses an appointment because they are in hospital gets their benefits suspended for 4 weeks and have to have to go through a whole appeals process to get it back.
This will be the group of people who by definition are much more likely to be in and out of hospital and least likley to be up to going through the appeals process

As I understand it from my friend the person inxquestion had been refused disability benefits as her illness though terminal does not technically stop her looking for employment, or did not at the time of her assessment by ATOS so was forced to claim Job Seekers Allowance. Would make those where do you see yourself in 5 years time interview questions interesting - err dead.

WEll, do something about Syria then! Did you lobby your MP do influence that vote? I did, I posted the reply here.

This is something else I can do something directly about.
