Tyrone, just stating something as a fact does not make it so.

    Empirical evidence however does.

God I despair that anyone can be as intellectually challenged as Tyrone.

He said on "average", so he may be almost correct, those on the shop floor will get a few pence whilst those in the board room will get a few million, it will average out so that those that need it most will get least and those that need it least will get most.

Two observations in all this....(apart from questioning what planet Tyrone is on)...

The right wing (and let's face it, this lot are as right wing as any party we have had in power since Thatcher) have two major policies that highlight their 'money equals success' ideology.
1 Privatisation of all public services under the pretence that Privatisation equals efficiency. They automatically assume that nationalised companies are inefficient. This may be partly true but only because of government interference and incompetence. Besides m,any of us will have worked for major corporations who demonstrate astounding levels of inefficiency on a daily basis. In reality, as someone else has stated privatisation of public services usually means profits go to shareholders and risks go to the taxpayers. In some cases e.g. NHS and the PFI initiative for schools, where the only revenue comes from the Government i.e. the taxpayer the Profit element becomes simply an additional cost. Instead of any efficiency savings being ploughed back they are given to investors and shareholders. In other words it is a strategy to move money from the middle class and working class taxpayers to the wealthier people in society.

2 The same can be said of the other strategy that is, not only tolerated, but encouraged by the government which is use of a low minimum wage, zero-hours contracts and the proposal to force people on JSA to work for 30 hours per week to get their benefit (notwithstanding the fact that the £70- odd divided by 30 hours falls far short of the minimum wage). This raft of policies merely provides companies with access to a cheap or even free labour market. This also has the added disadvantage of reducing the size of the labour market for those actively seeking paid employment and depresses the economy by destroying the stimulus for growth -(how can you get loans/mortgages when you don't have a proper contract of employment with guarantee of regular work?) The main issue though is that the minimum wage means, again, the transfer of wealth from middle/working class taxpayers to the corporations and wealthy in society as the wages are topped up by the welfare system, family credit, child benefit etc.

If companies were universally forced to pay a 'living wage' then corporation tax could be cut and the welfare budget slashed. However the Govt reel off the mantra that we have to be "competitive in the global economy". This is a myth as we would have to compete with countries with non-existent H&S laws, lack of building regulation, little or no control over worker exploitation which, of course we can't unless Dave and Gideon redeuce us to a third world country.

Oh! Hang on!! Isn't that what seems to be happening??

You're seriously correcting someone on their spelling? You? tyrone? If we did that to you that's all we'd ever do. It would be a full time job, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
