Do you have any proof of this ? I was there in the 80's and have always worried he might find me one day!
He's not yet interested in the younger lot. He's still got unfinished business with our age group. He'll catch up with you when you're in your 50s.
He's a busy lad Peg Leg - he 'haunts' the kids we take away in Liverpool - place called Colomendy in Wales. Scout Dike was fantastic - went there in 81 - happy days
I still remember what was in my locker. "Peg leg is steve" In the next bed to me was a lad called steve. Not much sleep for me then!
Scout dyke brings back memories. think it was 1986 wen i went with Upperwood School in darfield. it was a good laugh
Dormitory 1, went in it every time we went, shat myself. Remember once a car coming into the car park about 2am to do a U turn and the headlights lit up the dormitory, everyone **** themselves and one lad jumped up looked out of the window and shouted "peg leg in his f**king Cortina!"
I’ve recently been back to Kingswood/Scout Dyke and Peg Leg does still exist there although in a diminished capacity. All the big dorms have been split into smaller rooms with 2 bunk beds in each. Rooms on the same corridors all have been named after mountain ranges & I think Peg Leg resides in Himalayas.
I remember the 1st time I went, in the bed opposite mine was a kid called Lee, we didn't really get on, anyway about 2am we both sat bolt upright at exactly the same time & looked towards the table & chairs at the bottom end of the dorm. Sat around the table we could see shadowy figures, so, terrified we crept around the dorm waking our mates up until- with "strength in numbers" we were brave enough to turn the light on, turns out our teachers had decided to have a late night game of cards, never understood why it was in our dorm though!
I went in 1997. The inside of my locker said, "Pegleg is going to rip off your balls and use them as golf balls!" I never did care too much for golf.
Went with Wilthorpe either 85 or 86.. Remember one of the teachers walking up and down the corridors banging a broom as he walked trying to scare folk. There was also rumoured to be a Nun but Peg Leg was defo the Freddie Kruger..
Went a few times in 90's, remember once when one of teachers pretended to be pegleg and he made quite a few scared.
blue nun and peg leg loved scout dike - thought it was great. Went walking up to wharncliffe crags a few weeks back to find frankensteins rock that we were shown when we went on a trip whilst there.
