Sharp and Fryatt deals agreed, money not an issue, but neither want to play for us. I've got this off twitter from reds fans at Bournemouth. He and Jimbo are handing out drinks vouchers. Also says Pollitt is injured.
Anyone who went last night, able to confirm that this is what Mansford said? I think it is interesting if true and shows the level of ambition they are trying to show by getting these deals in place.
So if this is true they are saying they don't want to play championship football for certain clubs and that they would rather sit on their arses and collect their wages.
We have had players on loan before that didn't want to be here e.g. Deon Burton, so I'm glad they have stated that they don't want to come to Oakwell and just couldn't be arsed in playing football like Burton did.
That could be true Mario, at the pre season meeting with st holders Flitcroft said that he laid it on the line to all prospective signings about the work ethic and what would be expected of them, he said that there had been players who had basically walked away and said their agents phoned up a few days later saying that they would not be signing for us. If certain players don't want to play for us so be it, if they want to come and toss it off we don't want em.
You know this work ethic Flicker talks about? Does it only apply to player he wants to sign? I cant see much evidence of the players already here working very hard !!!
I spent a couple of minutes talking to Ben Mansford yesterday evening, after thanking him for the complimentary drink. I said that I was concerned about our away form and that I felt we lacked creativity and pace in the lineup. he was very upbeat with his reply, telling me he was confident of the outcome of last nights game, saying " not worried at all about tonight, we will be fine" My impression was that he genuinely felt that a win was on the cards.
I assume you mean the ONE fan at Donny who soon got sorted out. About time that business was dropped.
Yeah I don't believe Fryatt/Sharp just want to sit on their arse and collect a wage. Just that they want to play for a team higher up in the league than second bottom. Starting a league game with Sharp/Pederson/COG in the same lineup is a lovely thought though.
