I noticed the pressure in my front driver side tyre was decreasing the other day, over a period of around 9 hours. When I checked, I noticed there was a nail stuck in my tyre (in the tread). Does anyone know of any places in the Barnsley area that could potentially fix this (at less than £20). My mate says there is a place at Cundy Cross that could do it? Not sure where it is though. Cheers.
The place in Cundy Cross is just to the left as you go off the roundabout towards Stairfoot. The entrance looks like a garden gate and they are very reasonable.
Not sure if it's a wood shop but it's just past the shops that are on the roundabout (the ariel shop is one I think). It's no more than fifteen feet off the roundabout so if you get the the pub / Italian (used to be mill of the black monks) then you've gone too far.
Wombwell tyre's are good there on industrial estate opposite new strata estate where perfecta beds used to be
Any tyre place will do it. I use Malcom's just off Cemetery Road. It's either a fiver or a tenner, can't remember which.
If you go up Sheffield Road from the roundabout at the top of Harborough Hills, go straight through the lights at the junction with Doncaster Road and turn left at the next set of lights. That's Cemetery Road. Turn first right on Pindar Oaks St and Malcom's is there on the corner at the junction. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=pi...=uk&ei=Y1U5UtiTAaub1AX06IDwBw&ved=0CC8Q8gEwAA
I only drive about 7000 miles a year yet I go through tyres like an F1 team - no punctures just no tread. Is this just because I always buy the cheapest?
Even the very cheapest should last you a couple of years at least with that sort of mileage. Get your tracking checked. Your wheels are probably out of kilter and are just scrubbing the tread off.
I always use Malcoms. Excellent attitude. They won't con you. They will sell you a good tyre at a good price. If you want cheap rubbish they will tell you that's what you are buying. And if they say they can't repair a tyre it's because the tyre can't be repaired - not because it takes them longer to do and they make less money than selling you a new tyre.
I ended up going to the one at Cundy Cross, purely because it was closer. It cost £10, and they were done in around 15 minutes.
I believe it's a cafe and a firework shop next door now. Malcolms just off cemetery road charged me about £14 I think when I got a screw driver stuck in mine a couple of years ago.
