As a stakeholder, season ticket holder and supporter of the company he works for I think it is important that he tells me and everyone else exactly why he refuses to utilise one of his employers major assets while the department he manages is going down the shitter. If that means that a well paid manager feels a bit uncomfortable and has to face the reality of what he is doing then that's just tough **** on his part because i'm absolutely sick of him pretending that this asset doesn't exist and flat out throwing a wobbly when anyone dares to mention him.

If it was any other business he'd be forced to explain himself, because it's football somehow he gets to do what the chuff he likes and because he got the titty lip on nobody dares question him.
Imagine if he was the manager of tesco and you when you got to the checkouts you found that you had a 3 hour queue because there was only one checkout operator working but there is another one sat on one of the conveyor belts begging to be allowed to work and there is a manager stood there pretending he doesn't exist. The customers would all be going crazy and if they asked about the other employee and got a mouthful from the manager he'd be in the office and out of the door before his feet could touch the ground.

I'm hoping he'll be back training with the first team from Monday, and allowed to be played in the 21's. I won't go as far as to hope he'll be in any first team squad, though. Baby steps.

Except that isn't the metaphor is it. The Tesco manager has 11 check outs with 11 check out staff working on them and you happen to think the bloke stacking shelves is better than one of them.

But what if the shelf stacker was great on the checkout last year, and the current ones on the checkout keep dropping the stuff on the floor and trying to scan it upside down?

It's just an odd question to ask. He's never asked why he doesn't pick anyone else he doesn't pick. Why single out Bobby? Even Bobby doesn't like the question. It's disrespectful to the manager, the other players and embarrassing to the Club captain. If I was manager, I wouldn't appreciate the question either.

Sorry, you're quite right. All 11 checkouts are being worked on, however some of them are being operated by trainee's who take 20 minutes to scan each item and keeps getting peoples change wrong while a former checkout operator of the year is stood watching doing nothing at all

Why is it embarrassing to Dawson?

That would have been a much better metaphor

Is there an Irish checkout operator, who keeps slamming the till in anger?

I bet they've a photo up of a small chap with white hair - employee of the month.

And a lad who's very quick at serving customers but makes some reight mistakes, giving folk too much change and what not. But the manager blames sumdi else.

That's the one. But under that version the manager doesn't end up being sacked.

In last radio Sheffield interview , they asked him about cofie , McCourt , nayatanga . He gave them answers on all three , he would probably say bobby was injured and is working his way back to fitness to be diplomatic

Not really the same is it.

The other point is, like in any job, Flicker only has to answer to the owner and his board. Apart from that, its all PR. He doesn't have to speak to the media, he doesn't have to speak to the fans. Granted, its easier if he does, and the fans love it but the harsh reality is he is paid to win football matches and I am sure in his own mind he is doing his very best to do that.

I like Bobby and think he should play but I think some of you need to stop with the need to hound the manager about it. He's not going to play him and its counter productive to continue to bang on about it imho.

Oh, and a French lad. A big kid. He's only ever worked at Aldi up until now and he's a bit clumsy. Knocked an old woman darn t'other afternoon. But he's improving.

He does eventually when the higher ups realise how abysmally he is treating an employee, how rude he is being to the media when asked about the situation and how he has allowed his checkouts to be operated so badly for so long.

Maybe head office shouldn't tell him who he has to employ on the shop floor and it wouldn't be an issue.

I'm going to stop now because I'm being flippant and it'll look like I don't rate or respect Bobby Hassell which couldn't be further from the truth. Terry Nutkins and Jay's posts sum up my feelings
