Also made the metal strip for Gillett razor blades in the cold rolled strip in the low yard. Up at East Bank we turned bars that eventually became high pressure oxygen tanks for hospitals.
Well t'owd man I did 38 years there and worked in all areas, did donkeys years at east bank. I was on the installation of the rotomat, grinders and the reeler in 76 ish. Ripped out the rotomat and shifted the reeler. Our paths have probably crossed.
Well I worked on the rotomat then moved down to the Billet Bank to work on the new 2 bay inspection line. What dept did work in?
Put that in as well. There is no doubt we know each other. I was shift eng based in the mill when I left. Tha could be Philip or Dennis.
Ah, but which Phillip, Hayward or Simpson, There was me (simpo) Dennis and Crofty, also affectionally known as the three b4st4rds on our shift. The other Phillip and me worked on the rotomat for years up to moving down to the BB.
NO, Simpo, Hayward was too nice to be a b4st4rd, I was really (lol) but Dennis and Crofty taught me well. Did you ever work in BB engineers.
I'm racking my brains trying to think of an engineer that follows the reds and worked in the mill, thats it, brains only took 2 secs to rack, can't think. Mr Richie ?
Brain racking time.. I can't remember 10 minutes ago, never mind 10+ years.. I'll come back when it comes to me
