No idea. I get the feeling his departure was more acrimonious that first thought...

I've not seen him in the directors box this season.

"Now that Ben has come in, everything is done more professionally" says Flicker. A lot.

He was a lovely bloke, Don. Always had time for me, even when I got angry at the Blackburn game with Hill's agent.

I hope he's got his feet up and enjoying his retirement.

Not going to be a revisionist but I wonder if it was a case of him or me?

    I wonder who knew Mansford....

You're bang on with your assumptions of late, pal.

If Flitcroft does eventually get the boot, it won't be Ben's decision.

    Never schmoozed in my life.

I just get in peoples faces. They probably think "who is this lovely person?" and they'd be right. I am.

I wouldn't expect it would be. It will be up to PC, just like it's been since he owned the club.

I do wonder who identified Mansford...

I don't think that's true mate, although I obviously don't know for sure. In the BBS meeting with Don last year, about November time I think, certainly long before we sacked Keith, Don was talking about retiring at the end of the season then. He felt he'd been working long enough and wanted to enjoy his retirement.

I think the decision Don took to retire prompted Patrick to bring in Ben and Maurice rather than they were brought in and Don was forced out. That's certainly the conclusion I came to after hearing Don speak and then learning of the new recruits. But like I say, I don't know if any of that is true, it's just the impression I got.

All fair points Jay, it's just a feeling. Just like the feeling as to how Mansford was identified.

Triggered really by the news a few weeks ago that The Don wanted shut after season one....

We were generally w4nk under Don, and still are.

Don would not make better players out of our lot depite you lot reckoning Wiseman is no longer *****.

I have never wanted a Barnsley manager to succeed more than I do Flicker, but **** me son, you're making it tough with you're ***** midfield choices.

What a mess you've created David by over complicating a simple game.
