Watfud are a Premiership team playing in the championship............everything they hit went in
If they continue to play like that they surely must get promoted this season.
A team that is very very confident on and off the ball.

But as a summary of Barnsley:

Steele - didn't do badly..........his distribution has definitely picked up since he's been dropped

Kennedy.............poor game..............Lasarus was a big improvement when he came on

Our back four in second half played reasonably well but Watfuds movement off the ball was exceptional

Etuthu had a terrible game and just could not get to grips with their style...........he was constantly just a bystander as the play went straight past him..................regularly leaving Perkins to try and patch things up.............we need someone else ready to step into this role if Kelvin is having a poor game.

Dawson is not a wide player...........he is a player we need on the bench to cover for any loss of Perkins

    Scotland was great today

JimJim came on and tried his hardest............but lumping the ball into the middle and hoping for the best is not really the standard of Championship football

The big plus today was the first look at McCourt.............he came on and was probably the best player on the field ...........CLASS
A player that can see and make a pass. I was really impressed by him.
Would love to see him and Mellis side by side in the midfield.

As bad as the scoreline looks..........it wern't that bad today really
A huge positive for the Barnsley team was that although Watfud kept scoring, the heads of the Barnsley players didn't drop that low and they kept trying.
If they continue to do this then I'm sure it will come right in the end

Absolutely no chance of Mellis and McCourt in midfield, what would he do with the 3 stooges?

You fishing for a bite Nudge?
    We weren't that bad?

Maybe if we started with a positive formation at 3pm we wouldn't have been chasing the game 3-1 down at half time.
Negative tactics/formation from kick off cost us.

We were second best today, but at 3-1 Almunia pulled off an outrageous save to deny Cranie(?), that goes in and it's a different game. As said earlier, all 3 lads who came on made an impact. I'd like RNL to be given a run of games (let's say up to Christmas) and see how he does. His touch and set up for Scotland's late miss were excellent. I think 5-1 flatters Watford, but we were well beaten.

If they play teams like us every week they will get promoted, but they won't. Wigan probably thought the same, they are 15th, Watford are 6th 5 points off top

Its such a shame we didnt start the game with the players and attitude we stated the second half - both RNL and JOB were vast improvements on Kennedy and Dawson - Fully agree with Nudger Dawson is good cover for Perkins but he isnt a right winger and I still dont think we ever perform well when both are in the team

Didnt think we deserved to "lose" the second half - not too bothererd about the 5th goal but the 4th one and the one that finished off the game was poor - Perkins asleep and I thought Steele could have done better - though I dont think Steele had a bad game couldnt do anything about the other 4 goals. 5-1 was a bit flattering to Watford but we were well beaten - first half was very poor

You're kidding yourself mate. Watford were cruising. If that had gone in they would have put their foot back on the accelerator and banged a couple more in. Our defence were simply incapable of stopping them when Watford applied any pressure. And with Perkins seemingly playing for Watford rather than against them they were offered no protection either. We were much better second half and really should have scored at least one goal in that period, but we were never going to get anything out of that match once we had surrendered the first half due to such an ill conceived team selection.

Flicka said it wasn't an onslaught............and it wasn't........even though Watfud scored 5 we had enough of the game to get something out of it

The problem as I see it lies in central defence and the cover infront of central defence

When Kelvin played at the end of last season we got a result...........this season he has gone walk about. He was nowhere to be seen against Watfud.
I would rest Kelvin and put Cranie in there.
Wiseman and Ramage at centre backs
    Lasarus at left back
Which means we need another right back, Unless Nyatanga can do something to settle the centre defence then Wiseman can go to right back.
Although in my opinion Wiseman is better in central defence..........he got beaten for speed for Watfuds 3rd goal which is unusual

He didn't get beaten for speed, he was with the player, just didn't challenge or anything.

Steele was shocking yesterday. To blame for at least 3 of their goals.

They stopped looking for goals after the fifth, therwise it could have been an onslaught, they felt sorry for us at 5. ..

they kept trying???? That would imply that they were trying from the start. Only Scotland and O'Grady looked like they were trying to me,

I can't believe you didn't think we were bad. A guy having to control a football outpaced our entire team and we conceeded another two inside our own six yard box.

I agree, Watford looked Premier League class but struggled to beat Donny mid week. Wigan looked Premier League class, as did Forest so it's worrying that every team we seem to face look to be a division higher and that will be the case if we don't be careful.

Etuhu has been **** the last few games and doesn't seem to have recovered from his injury well at all. Noble-Lazarus and McCourt both looked brilliant when they came on, even though they both to seem to back out of a tackle.

Tactics need to be changed on the wings and we need a settled team because us, Yeovil and Bolton could be left behind if were not careful. Get behind Flicker though, i believe he can do it.
