Football is irrelevant after the weekend you have had. Puts the "misery" of watching a losing football team into perspective.
20 - 6 UP at half time and cruising and we blew it. no excuses. Only selves to blame, very poor 2nd half and should have had a drop goal plan
We stopped playing after 35 minutes, looked like when we got to 18 - 0 we thought all we had to do was play out the remainder of the game and the win would be a formality, then weren't able to switch back on when it got tight towards the end. Ours to lose, so definitely only ourselves to blame, none of our alleged big players turned up today, and I pretty much knew Finn was going to miss (what I thought was) that relatively simple drop goal chance just before they went downfield and won it. Caps off a season of Jekyll and Hyde performances, I bet Sheffield are even happier than Batley tonight!
Errr, I went Lords yesterday & my side didn't even turn up. Then City lose today - and the missus's got the decorators in. Not a good weekend Edit: Oh ********. Just seen that Di Canio's been sacked - that was one relegation place nailed on. Grrrr.....
You're so right, last thing we want to do is give that bunch of crooked closed-shoppers an excuse to say we don't belong there.
not a truer spoken. I bet the RFL was jumpimg for joy when that drop goal went over, Turned to a bloke I knew behind me at 20 - 20 and said that us done. we done have anyone who can drop a goal also when I was playing in that situation we would always cover the halfback..fecking school boy
Depends what you're after, recently been through a few futuristic/psychological thrillers that were ok though not what you'd call heavy going - Last Light/Afterlight (Alex Scarrow) Therapy/Splinter (Sebastian Fitzek) Altered Carbon/Broken Angels/Woken Furies (Richard Morgan) The Holy Machine (Chris Beckett) Think next up might be that new Roddy Doyle (about Jimmy Rabbitte), really hoping it doesn't disappoint given how good/funny the earlier Rabbitte books were.
