Does anyone remember December, when Keith Hill was sacked. After being linked with so many names, the only managers we actually seemed keen on were Terry Butcher, Sean O'Driscoll and allegedly Craig Hignett. On paper, not very inspirational characters. So why do people think that this time will be any different? What is the point in sacking a manager if nothing else will change. Flicker has earned himself some time in my opinion by performing the miracle which was last season. Whoever comes in will have the same budget, the same squad of players and the same sort of backing from the team upstairs. I think Flicker has already proven he's up to the task, he may just need the time to sort it out. Does anyone have any real realistic targets? And when I say realistic, I mean in terms of who we can afford and who would be willing to work on a budget. I say back Flitcroft.
Me too...and the board will..they backed him to fetch in Fryatt or Sharp in the last 2 weeks..so I don't see any reason for them not to back him now.
so how long do u give him??? it was too late when we sacked hill he should have gone before then easily. do we make the same mistake with flicker wait until dec then sack him when were bottom without a chance?? i agree he worked wounders for BFC but you cant live on sentiment in football. you cant keep a manager for what he did last year! prime example chelsea won the champions league with di matteo, season after about 10 or 15 games in if that he was gone. i belive while ever he is here we are going 1 way and unfortunatly its not up!
yes they are stronger! have a stronger team and a better manager now! all im gettin at is that last season is last season its the past, we need to look to the future and i personally dont think flicker is our future.
He needs time to sort it out?Its his own mess he`s created,if he`s still here come Saturday it wouldn`t surprise me if he goes to a back four with Wiseman and Kennedy as the full backs, when we do start getting a bit of success he just starts messing with it and goes back to what it was.Its only a matter of time before he goes he`s just not up to the job and we have far too many inadequate players
The person with the shortest memory is David Flitcroft. It's so short that between the 4th of May and the offering of contracts in the summer he forgot that Luke Steele, Bobby Hassell and Stephen Foster had been instrumental in keeping us up.
all this talk about last season did i read the other day we have won 4 games since february an injury time winner by Palace while Steele was strolling round his penalty with the ball saved us and flitcroft.
not arguing with that just don't think its relevant what i believe is relevant is that flitcroft was the luckiest manager that ever walked the earth
My only realistic suggestion is to stick with Flicker. A lot of the criticism of the tactics and team selection I agree with. But that doesn't bring me to the conclusion we need to sack him. It's 8 games. 8 chuffing games. How long do we leave it? A hell of a lot longer than this.
No. We sack managers for the crime of keeping this club in the Championship against all odds, virtually all of which are hounded out by so called supporters...most of which haven't attended a game since Wembley. No one half decent will touch the job with a solid gold barge pole.
Give him while Bonfire neet, tell him there's no more money he's had enough, stop pissing about with Mellis, stick to a formation and team and stop pissing about making so many changes every week. And invite Bobby round for tea.
4 more matches will be a quarter of the season gone, with the next 4 fixtures we will end up with 4 points this means at the end of the season if this carries on we may struggle to reach the 20 points mark probably the lowest points ever accomplished by a championship side. This is the reality of the situation unless drastic measures are made at board level. All we hear is give him more time, to save the impending points tally time is of the essence
If they haven't been to a game since Wembley how are they hounding out the manager? Another cracking post.
