There are more people in the world still using Windows Vista than any version of OSX...

I remember getting a new laptop when Vista came out - within a few days I'd got shut and installed Windows XP on it.

Microsoft lost millions on its business customers downgrading to XP,having bought new machines with Vista...I'm surprised at that fact,I know hardly anyone on it now.

Vista was a truly awful o/s, I was forced to upgrade from XP which was a very good o/s. I hated it and I'm surprised Microsoft didn't get more stick about it.

Vista was disgustingly bad yes, a shiny surface to it but a disgrace under the hood. A cosmetic upgrade to Windows XP would have been much better and still more than adequate for use today.

For all the stick Windows machines get for supposedly crashing all the time, I never remember that being an issue with XP (or with Windows 7 to be fair) I think it was more a case of people still using 8 year old hardware and having hard drives and RAM that were failing - which they will obviously do in any system after four or five years.

We only upgraded to Windows 7 at work a few months ago, forced to as the support for XP was coming to an end, but we bought in a load of new PCs at the same time. Otherwise there was no immediate need to, the older PCs were from around 2006 and worked perfectly for the general office.

It was more a case that I was surprised because I thought the only fully-fledged computers people bought these days were Macs but the market share for OSX doesn't seem to be any more than it was ten years ago.

I never understood how they could go from getting it so right with XP to so badly wrong with Vista. I thought they had learned lessons from that sack of ***** they released called ME.

I never had the 'pleasure' of using ME. Seems like Microsoft are back into the cycle of releasing a new OS every couple of years so I'm sure the next terrible one isn't far away!

Not surprising at all. You can buy a piece of $hit laptop for £300, which will come with a piece of $hit Windows OS. Apple will never target that share with Macs. Would like to see the stats if you include iOS users

More Android users than iOS users worldwide. They would certainly swell the number of Linux users if added on.
