Digby ? Will he make it or will consistent injuries get in the way ?

We seem determined to throw our talented youngsters away instead of playing them. Other teams play them give them time to bed in and take it from there. We rarely play them. If they play well we drop them anyway (RNL) or sign players no better than them (Rose). Digby is thought highly enough to be in the England team at at reasonable level but can't get even a sniff of the team before a couple of honest journeymen pros. He will get fitter the more he plays.

I don't disagree, just a bit concerned re Digby being prone to injury apparently.

I think his frame will fill out as he plays more regularly. Nytanga used to be a skinny minny. I just don't want us to waste another talent.

I think that's right, for my money (and I do put some in to the club) the board have made the correct decision. If Flicker is a decent manager he'll utilise the squad he has and results will improve. If they don't, we've got the wrong man. Personally, I think they will, I think he'll get it right. Then in January we'll be able to move some out and bring some in.

Tough gig your first full season in management, particularly when you did so well taking over in such a desperate situation. It was backs to the wall then, it's different mentality needed now. Flicker hasn't adjusted yet, but I think he will, or at least I hope he will.

Where is that information from. He supposedly had resources in place for Sharp and Fryatt. They must still be available. I think we cannot get the players we want because they do not want to come.

agreed, but we're talking about 1 player here. mansford has gone on record as saying the Club have budget for 1 more quality player. but 1 more player isn't going to turnround the results & performances we've seen so far. i totally agree with the Club's response to the meeting

I tend to agree. Another loss won't necessarily mean the sack but I think another four or five goal beating will.

    Well done Pat.

Save the money if we need to give a new manager something in January.

Fully support their stance here. He has a bloated squad anyway, filled with players he wanted, time to get the best out of them.

And yet, we only have one recognised goalkeeper.

Flitcroft needs to get a grip of the situation, and quickly. The powers that be will be asking the same questions that we are all asking.

Two summer signings (Nyatanga and Jennings) aren't getting anywhere near the first team.

Both not fit. **** knows what Bayern Munich did to Jennings, came back looking more like a rugby player than a footballer.

    Indeed.

Looks like another Mido situation. I understood that we were going to be inserting contract clauses to protect us from situations where players were taking six months or more to get up to speed.

There's no excuse for this really - as neither would have been fit when the medical took place.

Very good point - medicals should be made far stricter. Other clubs might be able to make do without players for a month but not us.

And that would be my assessment too. I saw enough to convince me on Saturday that the fault lies on the training ground with instances where two of our lads were chasing the same ball and impeding each other. No excuse for this at Championship level - this should be stuff that's well and truly drilled in to them Monday to Friday when the squad is training. This has to be the biggest squad we've had for a few years and, with the possible exception of Bobby, players who Flitcroft wanted to retain or recruit.

Jennings is absolutely nothing like the Mido situation. They have time to get Jennings fit and know he has the talent to be an asset. Mido was pretty much at the end of his career - Jennings has barely started his.

I'm not questioning age or ability, I'm drawing similarities with signing injured / unfit players. We have a limited budget and cannot afford to carry people for six months. Jennings isn't the only one. I also named Nyatanga. Plus, didn't McNulty re-sign in the summer? He wasn't / isn't fit either.
