6 inches in height and nearly 3 stone heavier..............that is to say........a more impressive looking person between the sticks and around the penalty area

Looks good to me .........that's if the rumours are reight of course.

On those criteria, I'd probably be in with a chance of a game then. Where do I sign up?

I personally think Butland is a quality keeper and certainly be first choice here without a shadow of a doubt.

Butland is a good goalkeeper with the potential to become a great goalkeeper. In my opinion its a no brainer to sign him.

My only question would be was he available when Flicker chose to sign Pollitt?

Surely a better question is why retain Steele if Flitcroft doesn't rate him and didn't want to play him?

If we want to improve we need 2 good goalkeepers. Steele said himself in a recent interview his standards had slipped.

Is he really much different to last though? I think his kicking has improved, and I'm not sure what he could have done differently on Saturday to affect the scoreline, unless he suddenly gains the ability to create miracles

On that basis you are saying tall fat people all make food goalkeepers.

I see the excessive overuse of the ****tish full stops have returned.

I agree with what you are saying. None of the goals on Saturday were down to Steele. He certainly isn't the weakest player in our team. And if we had the choice of getting an international midfielder/centre half/wingback I would certainly take them over strengthening the goalkeeping position. However, if a player like Butland is available then for me we have to take it.

When I said should we question whether Butland was available before, I was getting at the fact that Flicker has made some strange decisions this season in regards to selecting his 'favorites'. It makes me wonder whether Flicker signed Pollitt regardless of Butland being available or not.

And invariably I would be on the losing team.

Preferably you need to be able to lift yourself off the floor by more than one inch............so that excludes me and thee and about 99.99% of the rest on here
