I've said it before but I feel I need to say it again. What an utter ****, I would love to give the self important moron a slap. He's a tool of the highest order.
He certainly can be, but its far less obvious when he's sat next to the absolute **** that is Michael Gove
Was going to post the same, but you beat me to it - he came across as a complete w@nker tonight on QT and thoroughly showed himself up at times.
I'm no fan of Gove but compared to Self he came across as normal and quite sensible and that takes some doing.
I've seen interviews with Will Self where he's come across as a decent bloke. Intelligent with good ideas that are presented very well. I've also seen him be the most patronising, up-his-own-arse w@nker on the planet. I'm guessing tonight he was the latter. I think he must be on medication, but sometimes he forgets to take it. Only reason I can think of why he can be so different. I haven't worked out yet if he's a decent fella and the lovely person comes out when he forgets his medication, or if he really is a complete lovely person and we only see that nice side when he's off his head because he forgot to take his medication.
I saw him a couple of weeks ago at a Warren Zevon tribute evening at a pub in Clerkenwell. I didn't go to see him specifically, my mate John Murry was playing. He did this monologue, about Zevon obviously and was quite funny and good value. I fancied explaining to him he was in danger of inventing a new form of totalitarianism, 'the right on fascist' - but he buggered off on his racer. Obviously off to give liberals a bad name somewhere else.
