So we now have three loan signings from Premiership clubs to add to our already oversized squad. If (and I do mean if) things don't improve sufficiently would it put the board in a position to justify his sacking? PS For the sake of consistency I expect everyone who pilloried Robins for making loan signings to do the exact same to Flitcroft - and remember there won't be any funds available for the new manager as we MUST have gone at least £2m over budget with all these signings.
I think recruiting a keeper as backup to Steele was the only further strengthening required. However, now Luke has been crocked in training, I applaud not only the recruiting of a keeper, but one of the best young stoppers in the country and a full international to boot. Kudos to Ben and co for such a coup. They are backing Flicker to the hilt. Not so impressed that we have signed our 44th midfielder, however decent. And, another loanee set to arrive after the weekend, too. I, and many on here have made it known that we think the squad is big and capable enough. It's the managers tactics, decisions and interviews we are having issues with. But to answer your question, Flicker has been backed more than any manager in my lifetime, all things considered. He is never told no. So if he doesn't turn our fortunes around, it won't be the fault of either the boards or fanbase. Let us hope sumat clicks tomorrow. We normally do well against shitty Lester. Even Keith got results there.
Is this what we have to look forward to now? Listening to you bang on about the same thing, every single day, til he's finally been sacked?
First off you do not have to read it. You could see my name and just not bother, but it seems to be a compulsion for you. Secondly, if this is what you do look forward to then you have my sympathies. Finally, nowhere in that post did I say he should be sacked. I was simply asking if the board have put him in a position where they can justify his sacking if things don't improve. If you're going to continue reading my posts at least read them properly before having a hissy fit. Cheers.
, Whether you agree with someone or not this isn't acceptable. Maybe try something a little less stupid to express your difference of opinion. Some people use this thing called humour. Try it.
if the new signings work and things improve then it will be well done to flicker, having said would anybody be surprised to see fox in a midfield 4 along with perkins, dawson and etuhu with mellis the one dropping out, genuinely hope things work out, but I agree with conan on this, no more excuses left, time to deliver
Got to agree, although if am not sure we can be firm about the £2M over spend......we can't prove that, it's just a guess.
I think Keith was given enough rope with those signings last year. In fact I know he was. But I genuinely see this as a vote of confidence in Flitcroft and one that based on last year he deserves. But there has to be some players leaving soon to balance it out. I'm more interested in who he drops now.
What I find frustrating is that flicker has openly stated:- Mellis is best midfielder outside of Premiership.......and he plays him on the wing. RNL (after a good performance at LWB versus Huddersfield) is now ready for a 30-40 game season.......and he drops him in favour of Kennedy. Is it just me, or are we receiving mixed messages?
My guess - 3-5-2, RNL and O'Brien reinstated and a midfield of Dawson/Perkins & Fox with Mellis dropped.
