Is what I expect/want. If we get less than that, he has to go. This isn't a Flicker out thread. I'm just putting it out there. And I think that's a very fair and reasonable target. Reading (H) defeat QPR (a) defeat Boro (H) draw Wednesday (H) win Ipswich (a) draw Thoughts?
5 points is the least I would be hoping for..Wednesday and Middlesborough are crap(according to my Middlesborough supporting mate)...if we can get back to some semblence of form, both are winnable..however if Wednesday luck is like last years game we'll get beaten
If we could beat Reading it could set us up for a run. QPR are not exactly banging them in, and Middlesboro are beatable We need the old flicker and bull dog spirit back. We need Pederson and Nyatanga in.
I agree with your predictions Whitey up to the Wendies one. I think Dave Jones will have gone by then and, to use a Flickerism, they'll be galvanised. I think we'll lose and he'll be gone before the Ipswich game. All tremendously sad after the relative euphoria of the summer.
What if we won the next two, but lost the 'winnable' ones? Bloody hell. I'm getting an headache. Maybe I ought to just put my head in the sand and say "let's give him until the 46th game"???
I don't think 5 points from the next 5 games is enough. He's had the backing now and has brought in a small army of players. He's got a squad size that many championship managers can only dream of so he should be performing as well as the rest. Going into a match on the 8th of November with just 9 points on the board is nowhere near good enough. To put it into context we had 15 points by that point last season and stayed up in the final minute of the final game.
I think that if the first of your predictions come off then he won't be in charge by the Wednesday game.
Sorry, no I meant if the first 3 come off, lose, lose, draw. By then it will start to look desparate. If they were the next 3 results, and he was still here, then the Wednesday game would be a win or bust for sure.
Boro can't defend, so I expect that to be winnable. Same for Wednesday. I can see us getting 7 points from those three (Ipswich). But I'd settle for 5 from 5. Maybe I'm just not keen on going through another managerial change. But like I say, less than 5 from those 5 games and I'll have to accept it's unlikely to get better.
I don't want him to go regardless at all and if you actually bothered to read my post you would see that I said (whilst talking about the next 5 games as per the thread) that he needs to perform. I figured that I didn't need to specifically say 'as Barnsley manager' because I thought that was bloody obvious considering the address of this website.
For me, If we don't win 2 of those 5 then relegation would be looking difficult to avoid even though it would only be the start of November. It would be an uphill battle for the rest of the season whoever was in charge. I just remember last season - bit of a freak series of results near the end with everyone picking up points all the time but it just felt like trying to escape quicksand.
