...half of 'em are freezing, the other half are red hot. While they moan about it all the blokes are indifferent to the temperature which seems relatively comfortable, until the women decide to simultaneously open the windows and put the fan heaters on. Happens every year from about now until May. The fact that women seem to be able to wear what they want in an office environment should make it a lot easier for them to wear layers. Don't mean to sound sexist, it's just an observation!
Invariably I find the one(s) that sit under the aircon unit are the biggest culprits. Not always women, some soft blokes are just as bad! The temperature then gets jacked up and the rest of us are made to sweat!!
Yep, been on about it today funnily enough. The ladies in the office are asking for the radiators to be turned on but we (mostly the blokes) don't want them on yet because once they go on its like an oven and we get moans when we open the windows.
I've got circulatory problems so I'm always freezing. We don't get any control over the heating though so layers it is. My cleaner has the opposite problem however and she is always too hot (even in winter), she turns bright red and sometimes faints from over heating. So yes, I would say we do get that at our work
I think some people are very selfish when it comes to their own comfort and will just open a window at the other side of the office to them and not care that someone else is going to freeze their t*ts off just so it will feel half a degree cooler at their end of the office. There is one bloke who seems more sensitive to temperature than the rest of us but I feel sorry for him as you can tell he sits there suffering in silence before eventually very apologetically asking if we mind having a big fan on. Suppose you can't please everyone although it's difficult in our building as the office area was an afterthought and the temperature variations over a relatively small area are massive. When I was in Gateway Plaza the office temperature was exactly the same all year round - didn't stop people moaning though.
As long as your husband as a house cleaner that's all that matters, i don't work with women, and never will, because its more trouble then its worth, so i never have this kind of bullshite problems
Nope it's too late now. You've said it so from now on you are the posh lady with a cleaner whether you like it or not
In the interests of sexual equality women should be forced to work in a lead foundry. As should the two gay lads who sued that B&B.
Its a problem that I have noticed for many years.. I could walk into an office and at one know if the office was mainly male or women orientated..... it was the same at home... I would be constantly turning the thermostat down..while the witch would turn it up again..
