Anyway - good game at Oakwell tonight........ PS - I can't stand the public schools, don't go to Church and have stopped reading the Sunday Papers, does that make me a hater of Britain too? To be honest I wouldn't close the Daily Mail as to most people its become a parody and does the Tories as much bad as good. The majority who don't read it will side with Ed on this as they know how p'd they'd be if their deceased 'owd man was being attacked in print, particularly on such threadbare evidence as a single diary entry when he was 17. And it was fun watching Alistair Campbell rip the deputy editor a new arsehole on Newsnight.
This thread is brilliant. I didn't know it was possible to be so mental. It's as I've always suspected, those on the right aren't just horrible people, there's something seriously wrong with them and it goes to their very core. They're made of genetic garbage.
Because the Daily Mail are by far the worst protagonists, closely followed by the Daily Express when they can get the front page away from Diana or Maddy McCain
Well the argument being that because he opposed the Monarchy and the Church that he "hated" Britain. I reckon there are a lot of people on here then that "hate" Britain.
I wonder if people would be as upset if it was the conservative leader instead of the labour leader who's late father was getting these stories printed about them, it isn't right regardless of who it is but I have a feeling opinions would be slightly different
I think I would feel the same. Not the same, but look at stuff posted on social network sites like Feacebook, if it's criticism of policy then fine, but I see people share stuff that basically just says something like "Camoron" or when people write Blair as "Bliar" on purpose - can't stand it.
To be honest i wouldn't particularly care if it was true or relevant. But it isn't. Its just an unfounded hatchet job based on spurious out of context quotes making arguments based on what the Daily Mail's idea of what being British is. If the headline had been 'Ed Milband's father hated all the things the Daily Mail likes about Britain' then it would have been fine. Just in the same way as the Daily Mail hate all the things I, and a lot of other people, like about Britain.
I got worried that they might like me at first when I said I was heterosexual, married and both my parents from UK....but no, they still hate me!
