No-one can expect anything from this game so what harm would it do to go out and have a go at playing like we did yesterday, no need to change things worrying about them just treat it as a free game to try and impose ourselves on them and give them something to ponder

Said the same this morning. Nothing to lose by going there and getting at them.

The big question is why did it take Flitcroft until about 4 o'clock on Saturday 29th September to realise this is the way to go. I'm not saying everything is hunky dory after last night, far from it , but surely it should make him take the blinkers off.

I agree. Cant understand why he didnt go like this from the start. Maybe he didnt feel we had the players to do it. And with a midfield of Perkins, Dawson, Etuhu and Obrien we dont. The important thing is though he looks to have changed it now. We have some top quality players. And still plenty of time.

That is the crux of the issue. Having players that the opposition will have to worry about in teh middle makes a massive difference.

Needs to pick the same team results unimportant but we need continuity.

Before game last night in pub, quite a few of us speaking how he can change thing. Main point all agreed was lets hound the opponents from the start, play more attacking rather than sitting behind the ball. All this happened last night.

Yes QPR are sitting at the top but if they sent anyone to watch us last night I can imagine they will have gone back with a complete different opinion to what they came with.

It's because he's scared of us getting hit for 4 or 5...not sure he would survive another one of those even if it's due to is 'having a go'

Being scared of being hit for five hasn't stopped us from doing so so far has it. Get amongst them, grab an early goal, make them open up more.

I agree, but if we do play like we did against Reading then I think we could get something.

Saturday will be my 7th visit to loftus road never seen us win there, we normally concede 3 or more so a Barnsley win never entered my mind

I agree. QPR don't know how to conceed a goal, so with nobody expecting us to get anything there (QPR to nill will be popular whatever the odds are) we have nothing to lose by playing the way we did last night.

I'm in double figures myself and we've never had a sniff. Still the Trevor Sinclair goal was worth all the pain. Best goal I've seen in the flesh.

I hope we do, and IF we get beaten, I hope it's a narrow defeat and we've given a good account of ourselves. I have 2 main worries over the QPR game:

    1) Going out to try get a point, because they're seen as almost nailed on, promotion candidates, and ending up on the end of another 5 goal annihilation. Which basically undo's all the hard work from the last game and a half.

    2) If we do manage to get something or at least give a good showing, we've got a fortnight off before our next encounter, which may cause us to lose momentum going into a stretch of 6 games which we should be picking up at least 10 points from.

After QPR, we've got Middlesbrough, Wednesday, Doncaster and Birmingham at home, and Ipswich and Millwall away. They're all games which we can realistically get points from, so it's essential from a confidence point of view to have a go at QPR and see what we get.
