sorry to rain on the parade and bring it all back down to earth. Decent result last night, of course it was , but we are still bottom, we are still a -14 gd and we have won only 1 game and have as yet to keep a clean sheet. However after the game Vs Q.P.R. on Saturday, which I for one am expecting nothing from, we then have a six game series which could very well turn out very profitable in terms of points won etc.

Our league position is poor but lets not worry yet.....

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table

After saturday Burnley will be the only team in the top 9 we've not played. Of the bottom 9 Charlton are the only team we have played. A few wins against teams around us will see us creeping up the table. Obviously if our poor form continues against teams around us in the table Flicker will be gone.

    absolutely agree

plenty of games to go. But it amazes me how people get so happy clappy when we turn in one shift. Suddenly its Europe in 5 years like the massive. The sad fact is that we are always going to be a lower end of this division struggling team. Unless we get a totally loaded investor.

Which forum you reading 'Europe in 5 years' ? Who's said that.

From today's reading, all I've seen if folk saying that if we play the same as we did last night, then we should be all right.

Think your not raining on anyone's parade, just pissin up the wrong tree.

it was a referal to the 'massive' down the road'

a few years back, I believe Turner was the manager then. Probably before your time.

Every journey, no matter how long, must start with one step.
    Have that!:D
The performance last night from the team as a whole (and McCourt in particular) would've given you a real boost had you been able to see it, mate. The display was a huge improvement on anything we've seen before. This is why everyone is so upbeat and long may it continue.

I think last night was something we can build on and hopefully draw upon to help us turn the corner. Our season really starts again after the international break and we must pick up results.

Looking at last season's final table, we'll need around 55pts to ensure survival this season. This means we've got to get 50pts from the remaining 36 games - that's 1.38pts per game and that averaged out over a 46 game season would bring in a total of 63.8pts. So, in short, we need the form of a top 10 team for the remainder of the season. Looking at it like that it's a tall order but nothing we can't realistically achieve - a lot can happen over the coming months.

And hopefully we'll not need the 55pts to stay up this season.
