See how well Joe Hart has done tonight for Bayerns goal.

You beat me to it. Hart is an average goalkeeper at best. I know I've said it before, but good grief, if this is the best England has to offer between the sticks at the moment, it really does not bode well for qualification, never mind Brazil. He's hopeless.

Butland should have saved Robson-Kanu's shot

    Hart should have done better

    As should Butland

    The point is...what?

    Both coached by BFC legend?
Both rated as the best in the country of their age group by their peers and managers alike?
Both - like Luke Steele, and Gordon Banks - make mistakes?

Andy have you watched the highlights yet? Look at the cross where Reading hit the bar, if Steele had flapped like Butland did he would have been slaughtered on here, and he did it all night.

The shot that Butland let in bounced just in front of him and kicked up a bit off the grass. I can't blame him for that at all.

However, he flapped at several crosses, at least 3 in the first half and in the second half when they hit the bar. From what I've seen that's where he needs to improve. He's a young lad and will get better.

Reacted too late for the goal, don't think he expected him to shoot.

I have, and I get what you're saying. But he's as good as we can get short term, and I am afraid Stoke sent him here to make these mistakes, to help him progress. Let's see how he does over the loan spell. I think - like Luke - he'll save us more than he'll cost us.
I may be wrong. It's what I am good at. :)

Not seen it on TV but from what I recall at the match it was basically out of reach, didn't think he was at fault at all, similar to our goal. And talking of goalies, Reading's looked really dodgy.

I am sure Jack himself would agree. He will be disappointed to have let that in.

It can't have happened though. If he'd seen someone slaughtering Steele on here he would have been straight onto them telling them to look in the mirror and accusing them of not being to a game since Everton in '89.
