The claim was that you could tell the difference. They claimed that Stork tasted better. Although the taste tests were always between Stork and 'Mrs Johnson's' or 'Mrs Green's' margarine, not butter. Hardly surprising really. If you're young enough not to have ever tasted Stork then you're very lucky indeed. It tasted like axle grease. As did all margarines in the 70s and 80s. They still sell the stuff, but they no longer claim it's edible spread on bread, just good for baking.
