Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country Agreed. Although in their country, this is the right thing to do. As is selling of Royal Mail, where large investors are set to make £1.3 billion in a WEEK
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country Institutions guaranteed 70% of the shares in a massively undervalued company which will lead to instant profits, for no risk whatsoever. Yep, it's the 80's.
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country If Ed was as Red as the Right like to make him he'd have re-nationalisation of trains as his number 1 policy. And no one could challenge him considering the £££ it's made the Treasury recently.
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country Without the music or the hair. Plus the RM pension has been taken onto the public debt book, just to be doubly sure that there is no risk. Privatise the profit, nationalise the debt.
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country The trains should either have gone back to pre-war companies who where then responsible for their own track, stations etc so could co-ordinate services properly and buy new carriages without the bizarre leasing scheme that has knackered our rail building industry, and open/re-open lines to give a proper alternative to the car, or they should be all brought under state control as part of a nationally co-ordinated transport policy. Prescott et al bear as much responsibility as those blue cnuts that devised it - they had 13 years to sort the railways out. The current system is the worst of both worlds. A daft tendering scheme that leads to companies racing to the bottom and Network rail existing to enrich its bosses, whilst prices shoot up with no benefit to the UK.
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country He is as Red as he dare be but if I was him I'd be saying we will nationalise Rail and we will nationalise Royal Mail (rename it National Mail) Furthermore, we will reverse provatisation of teh NHS that has happened under New Labour and this shower of ****.
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country Don't forget the thousands of pounds the staff will make
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country Impact on away game travel should be the debate
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country Its so the super "loads of money" conservative backers can make some more millions for themselves.
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country And the employees , who this will set up for life.
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country How come I would say that the average royal mail employee will make £100 000
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country How. What amount of shares does the average get, at what price and at what price will they sell to realise £100k profit ?
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country Some bloke from 'The City' said on 5Live last night that employees will get around £1500/£2000 worth of shares each depending on the opening prices. The cynic in me would say that it's a sweetener for what will come in terms of changing conditions to make the company 'profitable'
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country They will get options to by them at least 20 % off the original price and will be able to invest 250 per month to buy them in 5 years They will get a number of shares for free And up to about 20k s worth of the free and matching deal.
Re: Political dogma getting in the way of what's right for the country That's the free ones not the option
