I am not usually one to look at the past, but I found it interesting that Matt Done, ex-championship with Barnsley and ex-Scottish Premiership with Hibs (2012-13) recently was today sub for L2 Rochdale, and came on in the 84 minute v. Newport County when Rochdale were winning 3-0 (final score, too). Of course, he may have been coming back from injury. But then again he may have found his level, or others have found it for him. Sad and amazing fall from grace. Great shame. Btw, did you go Whitey?
Done was MotM two weeks ago but back on the bench again today as Hill utilised a different system which allowed us to pass our way around Newport all afternoon. Shame because Done had looked to have finally returned to form. Our squad, although maybe a striker light, could hold its own at the top end of L1.
Matt Done is a very poor player with the heart the size of a pea. Do not be mislead with the odd good game, because he will prove to SH!TE in the medium/long term. Build some consistency to his game, then he has a chance to, takeaway, give it a go.
Oh I went. I'll leave my blog to do the talking. But it will make very interesting reading. For the club as well as our fans. Wednesday morning. You Reds.
But as was discussed at length yesterday, the gap between good sides in different divisions is closer than ever. The way we play is suited to L1. Why? Because we've been in L1 recently and seen what it takes to be one of the top 10 sides. Opinion, based on fact.
thats what they said about us pre premiership only us believed we could do it and even then a lot were sceptical. i hope they do it and i hope hills succesful with em just because he didn't work out for us doesn't make him a bad manager look at Howe with Bournemouth certain managers/players are suited to certain clubs . all for a good underdog story in this money and greed engineered game of ours and i hope we're playing against em in championship in a couple of years time.
They were a joy to watch yesterday. Reminded me of us under Keith, circa 2011. And they have some very talented players who are at least a division below their true ability. The likes of Lund, Vincenti, Henderson, Dicker and Lancashire are all better than League Two. I won't go into too much detail as it would render my blog review redundant, but as I said at the game - "we wouldn't be 3-0 up against these" And that says it all. . And in terms of matchday experience, League Two Rochdale's pisses all over ours. Eye opening it was. And so easy to implement. I hope Ben Mansford reads my article on Wednesday. Or, takes a trip to Spotland and sees how easy it is to cater for your customers. . Oh, and Keith was rocking the barbour. The arrogant, barmpot arsehole. I miss him.
Sounds very interesting. Look forward even more than usual to your blog then mate. Ironically, I am driving to Idle, Bradford that day - over 300 mile round trip for me - so will not be able to read the blog until I get home unless I can pick it up on my phone.
My only disappointment of the day was not getting a photo with Keith. But I will return. And I will succeed.
