Sick isn't the word unfortunately in China animals are treated like vegetables, no amount of panda preservation makes up for this kind of abuse.

Actually no amount of panda preservation makes up for anything. Saw a documentary a few years back and they are really the architects in their own demise. They only eat bamboo shoots that are at least 3 years old and the effort and calories used in that is barely covered by those consumed hence they sleep so long and havellittle energy to breed. It's a wonder they've survived so long.

They were doing fine and dandy until we destroyed all their habitat. They've been evolving for over 3 million years in separation from other bears. They may have odd eating and breeding habits, but it worked. Considering they live in China, where the biggest population on earth will grind you up to put you in some medicine, eat you, or shove you in a plastic bag and attach you to their keyring, they've done pretty bloody well. They outlasted our native bears.

Done. The Chinese never seem to amaze me anymore. How can people not realise that what they are doing is just pure evil

The Chinese are sick. b......ds if you really want to see how sick, take a walk down the livestock market in Beejing. There is everything from turtles snakes, eels, hares, cattle, you name it. Killed on spot and whatever you want put in bag. Alternately take them alive for killing later. You would not get halfway down without turning round and getting out QuickTime. Don,t worry they are going to take over our energy supplies via sick note Osborne

I haven't got a problem with that, unless the animal in question is endangered, in which case I'm not happy. I eat meat, which in this country means pigs, sheep, cows, chickens and occasionally duck, partridge, pheasant, rabbit and deer. But if other countries choose to eat other animals that are in plentiful supply then I don't care a jot. If they want to kill them there and then on the market then fine. Is taking your animals from the farm to the market for slaughter any worse than cramming them in the back of a lorry and taking them to the abattoir?

I'm not going to get offended when people kill animals to eat. I understand the vegetarian argument and I'm sympathetic towards that philosophy, but it's not for me. However, what Mr C posted is a different kettle of fish altogether. It's cruelty for no benefit. It's horrible.
