What's everyone's thoughts on a drum in the ponty end? Not a full band just a drum in corner to create a bit of an atmosphere. End of the day most of our songs consist of people banging on back of the stand. Discuss. And to point out I don't own a drum and have to intention in bringing one just watching palace game seems to keep the crowd singing.
As long as it's not directly behind me then I'm fine with it. Like you say there is quite a lot of banging on the back of the Ponty anyway so it won't make much difference.
Works well for Palace, Motherwell and even Lincoln. Think they can have their place and help atmosphere sometimes. Helps over-ride people that can't keep a beat as well, e.g Three Little Birds
As I recall it didn't work out too well for the last chap who took a drum down to t'well - as several members of the ponty massive advised him that if he brought it back - EVER - they would stick in right up his arse. And it was a big bass drum.
Haha, I'm sure Three Little Birds gets faster every time we sing it, could barely keep up on Saturday
Think a few people have tried to freshen it up for a new season so it's the speed garage remix that everyone sings now.
I prefer the slow, slurred version when most of the words are just mumbled because they're too p*ssed to remember half of them.
GALLY kick this guy right her right now in noway do we need to have drums, whistles bells, etc etc .. we are not situated in Sheffield.. take this guy to one side and explain why he has totally no mind.
Yeah get one in I'll gladly stick it up the arse of whoever bangs it. Was a badly thought idea in the Prem season - caused more aggro than owt. Let's stick it next to the director's box.
Look at Motherwell's attendances then you'll see why they need a drum. They're lucky if they hit 4,000 for a home game.
