got away with an blatant handball in our own box and without Butland we'd have conceded more than just 1. Flitcroft's substitutions changed the game, took off our most creative and dangerous players and replaced them with players lacking first team edge. Cannot see us keeping a clean sheet, not scoring enough when we're on top, and we've a manager who seems unable to make the right changes to influence the game.
I think Cywka for McCourt might have been a more effective sub than that which was made. Jones was much better with his changes than Flicker unfortunately.
Is it only me who thought we totally outplayed 'em for 60 mins and should have been out of sight? Granted the last 30 was gash.
O Grady had an off day the manager should've seen that, after all the hype pre match it was understandable, they are a tall side, we should've kept the ball down, McCourt in a free role behind Pedersen, get Mellis central and whytfu,ck bring Jennings on who is only 40% better than when he joined, when Cywka has been scoring goals.
That's cos we hounded them in the first half. Cos we have to, cos we aren't clever enough to make them do it instead. No team can hound for 90 mins.
That was my take too, but SM makes valid points; we probably should have conceded more in that last third.....it's a different game if Johnson is sent off.
Talking out of your rectum. The two teams in Europe who pressurize the opposition most are Barca and Bayern. Dont think there fans are moaning. Moron.
Dont think it was very lucky - we were the better side for the first 55 minutes and should have been more than one goal up - probably would have been if we actually put some men in the box when we were fizzing some good crosses in . The Penalty was a bit of a red herring as they scored immediately afterwards which they probably wouldnt have done had they already equalised - we still had a couple of decent chances after the game went level - but also Butland made 2 excellent saves. In the end a draw was probably a fair result so we might have been a bit lucky but it wasnt a game we nicked a point we didnt deserve
I'm with you. If we were lucky to get a point does that mean e thinks Wendy should have won? Because that would have been an injustice.
I think a team keeping 65-70% possesion spends considerably less pressurising than a team who keeps 45-55% possession.
His subs were mental. Etuhu on for McCourt?! Wtf, it was as big he'd given in and settle for the point. Should've been Cywka or O'Brien. Taking Pedersen off was a joke too, by far our best player on the day. Chased down and worked well where as CO'G didn't get the service. Should've left him on.
We cannot afford three 70 minute men in the lineup. As per the previous home game - we were forced into making three substitutions in a game we were winning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
