    Re: Wasted on the left

I agree that mellis was very poor today! But who in our team played well? Thought we were pretty poor after we scored! We sat back and hoofed the ball to cog everytime butland got it.

Play Perkins on the left (out of position) and see how long he lasts.

That said, Mellis looked disinterested today (and I'd regard myself as a fan of his).

Considering they hardly got the ball to him I thought he was outstanding in the first half. Nutmegs a player faints and dummies the whole of the defence and puts a ball across about two yards out. Work rate ? Couldn't care, that's what I want to watch a player who isn't a plastic clone and I want to have his baby.

No matter where Mellis plays he will never get stuck in. All our team will tackle, but not Mellis. He shirks out of every one. The lad has wasted his playing career and has the talent to do much better. Our midfield hinders our defence and they are not good enough defending. Nice to see mvoto starting to settle in and he has played well last two games.

Sensational bit of play. Not sure I'm offering myself up for that yet though!

When he is played in position he is generally no different. Flatters to deceive and a waste of a shirt. My view is based on his general attitude and not his work rate. He's had long enough for me and doesn't seem to improve.

To be far to COG Jones did his homework on how flicka uses him and put two men on him and we should have used another outlet to confound them but we didn't/couldn't.

Oh aye Paddy is noticed for his tracking back. The offensive players should concentrate on offensive duties the defensive ones on defensive ones. Showed earlier in the season what you get with a midfield full of tries.

that's right marlon, jones without doubt knew how to sort COG out,so why didn't flicker change things around a bit? we are definitely short on other ideas.

More goals than all other midfielders put together last season more assists than all other midfielders put together last season when played in position.

    I agree with TOSH.

Mellis has had plenty of game time......I'm beginning to think that attitude is more of an issue than his playing position (he should be able today left midfield, easily).
