Have an unhealthy obsession with disagreeing with your posts however you couldnt be more right here. Confidence seemed shot when he came on which is a shame as i feel he could make a huge impact for us.

Waste of a sub and shirt giving him the ball basically meant giving Weds possession back. Awful today.

The lad needs games, he has hardly played in the last couple of years. I don't think we will be able to give him the game time he needs, he would benefit from a loan spell playing games, then I think we would have a player.
JOB is a great worker and would perhaps have been a better option today, but he can't kick a ball

He looks miles off the pace. Clearly he needs some game time to get some sharpness back, but I don't think the right time for that is when we're drawing 1-1 at home to our local rivals. Cywka should have been brought on yesterday. He's been causing the opposition all sorts of trouble with his cameo appearances. Bring Jennings on when we're 2 or 3 goals up and coasting. If that ever happens.

Puzzling substitution I agree. Was very disappointed not to see Cywka. On the upside of things, I genuinely think that Jennings will come good, though he may be a long term project.

Got to agree I would have gone with cwyka.

But don't tell me Jennings is sh$te...

You are the people who knocked Jon Walters, Chopra and Chris Wood to name just a few whilst they were here.

Jennings is a very gifted player, and his talents attracted European champions Bayern Munich... Whilst at Bayern he had a serious injury that put him out of the game for a whole season... No surprise he struggled to settle and requested move home... he is still young and needs fitness and confidence.

A harsh red card 5mins into his debut wouldn't have helped confidence. And awful reffing yesterday, when he put in a couple of decent challenges ref gave free kick. Then he had ball played through and slipped... Then he probably has a look on the web a sees fans giving him flack... The lad probably thinks whole world is against him.

Give this lad time and he could be future star

He's been here since the start of the season and still looks no where near ready Paddy's in better shape than him.

He must have something about him in training if he's getting brought on as sub, but he was pretty shocking yesterday and we had nothing going forward with him on the pitch.

I hope it comes good for him, still a young lad, but I fear he is another one of these footballers who show a lot of promise at a young age but don't look after themselves properly.

Even if over the last couple of years he has been getting paid 'only' £700 a week, for example, that is still a very dangerous amount of money for a young lad to earn and he has probably been paid much more than that.

The comments about him being overweight are are a bit harsh though. I met him at the training ground, hes not fat.
He gave me the impression that when he was out with his leg injury he put his all into the gym with the weights.
Half a stone off wouldn't hurt a lot of players but his looks like muscle to me.

I really hope it works out for the lad, he works hard and needs a break and an arm around his shoulder and possibly a loan spell with uncle Keith at Rochdale.

Should have put JOB on as his energy would have been perfect. Crazy to put a lad on with no confidence in the most pressurised few minutes of the season so far

This is what happens when folk get giddy about signings - expectations are raised and they rarely are met. And Whitey and I had an argument about this at the game.

He's a young lad who obviously has talent, just look at his goals for Tranmere. He's had a few years without regular football and he's obviously lacking confidence. He shouldn't be getting stick, Flitcroft should for putting him on.

I like O'Brien but we need more than energy from our wingers - we need a threat and he very rarely offers that. Cywka should've come on and in fact he should start next week.

I like RNL, I think he's been treated shockingly by Flitcroft but I don't think he's the answer either.

Aye but it wouldn't be as bad if he was just not meeting our (admittedly high) expectations. Fact is he looks weeks off match fitness after apparently being worked hard from the day he joined us. That is a worry, whether that is the lads fault or Flickers for not doing proper due diligence is another debate. And I agree with the previous poster that it doesn't appear to be solely lack of condition. He seems far more muscle heavy than you'd expect for a professional footballer, particularly in a midfield position.

Agree about Cywka by the way, barmy that he wasn't brought on.

That argument was great. I was close to getting my lighter out and throwing it at you.

I consider it only fair that I also mention on here that Jennings played really well for the under 21s last night. He scored our first goal and the majority of other chances/goals we had came from him. If he played like that for the first team I would have no complaints about him being picked.
