And so far, those thirteen games have been pretty diabolical. Two wins and even then we were fortunate to hang on, especially against Boro. A palrtry 9 points which equates to 32 over a season. The goals for column is not too bad but the goals against is embarrassing as we are averaging 2.3 per game. These are the stats that will you get relegated.

It's ok people saying that they have seen the evidence that we will be fine but I would say we've seen the exact opposite so far. The only thing we can hang on to is that he did a good job last season but that becomes less and less relevant as the weeks tick by and the things don't improve.

If someone offered me 21st now I would take it. Surely not what the club had in mind at the start of the season.

    **Edit - "Barometer".

Can't see any other outcome at the moment, Conan, it saddens me to say.

Who would you replace Flicker with?

We had this before with that other bloke. "No one could do better" people kept saying when in truth no one could do worse.

I've got to say this season has been an absolute disaster. Not just results wise but in terms of recruitment "strategy" (which is completely lost on me if there actually is one). All the momentum lost, far too big a squad and all the buffer from cup runs, sales of stones and golbourne quite possibly frittered. Numerous players ostracised (McNulty, Steele, Hassell, RNL, Digby, Rose at the minimum)

I'm thinking back to last season and at this stage we weren't doing too badly. We played some attractive football although didn't always get what we deserved.

This season we're getting exactly what we deserve. With a little less luck we could have less points.

We could well turn it around and obviously hope we do, but my faith is slipping by the week.

I just want the best players in the best positions and an ambition to attack.

Yes, but it is a valid question to ask.

Last year, we were rejected by 2 managers who the majority of us thought were realistic candidates. They both rejected us, and we were left scratching our heads as to who to ask next.

So who would you consider to be an improvement on Flitcroft?

No come on, if you feel that a change is required then you should really suggest a realistic replacement.

    Shaun O' Driscoll anyone ?

No I thought not though less than a year since most folk thought he was the answer.

Conan mate, be careful what you wish for ?

I've seen very few sensible suggestions for replacement

Not that I'm for one second suggesting that anyone in their right mind would offer him the job but the even if we did he'd probably turn it down again. Let's face it, his decision had nothing to do with footballing reasons and everything to do with money. That's one of the reasons why I enjoy looking at the bottom of the division 3 table so much, the other being Sheffield United's presence there, of course.

    I wouldn't, not at present.

But I'd take one of Megson, Mowbray or Wilson. That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure that if Flicker does go (don't want him to) though that I'd have a good look around and find plenty of other possibilities.

So let's not sack him. But let's sack the bizarre notion that nobody else can do better or that nobody else would come. All three that I've named would come.

If we employed Megson, that would be me done with the club I've supported 50 odd years

I'm yet to see any sensible suggestions. And that's the point for me. Whatever manager we bring in, will still have the same budget and players to work with.

Flicker's more than capable of turning it around, he proved last season that he can get us out of this position. I just think he's got to realise that he can't fit all of his best/fabourite players into the same team.

    Reallly - why ?

I wouldnt be happy with that choice but I would still come - The only managers that I can think of that would really make me consider stopping coming are Di Canio or Blackwell

Not that I want Flicker to go - just buck his ideas up

So we shouldn't measure him on his performance this season but on the assumption that no one could do better or that any who could would not come anyway.

I think Danny Wilson would do better.

For what reason? And don't say his Wednesday connections, or his supposed direct tactics. We played hoof for 30 minutes on Saturday. In fact, we play it a lot.
